Simon Westfield seems like an average college student: he goes to parties, sits on his ass too much watching movies and tv shows and playing games, procrastinates homework until the last minute and generally enjoys the good life. However, if you were to pay closer attention you'd realize that there's something off about his right arm: it's not real. It's a pretty good prosthetic that allows Simon to function as if he had his normal arm, but with a few difficulties.

[collapse=The accident and recovery]When he was 16 Simon, his parents and his siblings were driving home after a family visit. When they were almost home their car was t-boned by a drunk driver. While his family was only scratched Simon took the brunt of the blow. When he got to the doctors had some bad news: his right arm had been absolutely mangled and had to be amputated all the way up to the shoulder. Luckily his parents were of the upper-middle class and as such had a bit of money, allowing them to fund the recovery of their son. Simon's father, a doctor, put his connections to good use and managed to contact a prosthetist working on a limb that could be held against the stump of his shoulder and read the impulses send from his brain without the need of plugging it directly into his body. Getting used to his new arm took a few years, as did getting over the initial psychological damage. Nowadays Simon can function just fine, but there are still a few things he is sensitive about or just not likes to talk about, like the accident itself.[/collapse]

[collapse=Simon today]Simon is currently in medical school. He wants to become an prosthetist himself so that he can help people who have been injured like him. While he's not a very hard worker his grades are okay and he's making good progress. Because his parents are proud of his aspirations they are paying the rent for a modest apartment not too far from the university. He has been maintaining his own arm so he doesn't need frequent checkups at the prosthetist, but for big repairs he does have to visit the hospital. A few notes on his arm:

- The arm is a metallic base covered in removable skin plates. They feel a bit like skin if a bit colder, and in various places (mainly the elbow, wrist and where the fingers attach to the hand) the lines are fairly obvious.
- The arm can be discerned on touch, but it does not feel too much like a hunk of metal.
- It runs on a replacable battery that can go for about 36 hours of average use without needing replacement. In practice Simon replaces the battery every morning. He always makes sure to have a fully charged spare on him.
- It is strapped to his body with bands going around his torso. It stays in place fastly even under a bit of stress, but under more extreme pressure it could shift in place and lose its connection.
- While the fingers are about as agile as that of his other hand, the arm itself is not as fast as his original arm. This means it looks like his arm lags behind the other when using both arms.
- He can keep the arm up or in otherwise uncomfortable angles almost indefinitely.
- The arm itself is not unusually strong and Simon cannot throw super-strong punches with it (though they hurt more because of the weight of the hand, but the hand has more gripping power than a human hand.
- While the arm is build to resist water a bit, it is not water proof. Simon removes it when taking a shower. However, he prefers to wear it while sleeping.[/collapse]

[collapse=Simon in relationships]Prior to the incident Simon had not been in a relationship. During his recovery period he was not interested in one, but ever since he went to university he has been on the lookout. While he's not unattractive or unpleasant to be around the accident has left its marks on him. Primarily he's very self-consious about his arm. He doesn't really like focussing on it in conversation aside from the short formalities. (Yes, it's a prosthetic. Lost it in a car crash. It runs on batteries. No, it's not super strong.) Simon has had the misfortune that pretty much everyone he was interested in was either interested in or turned of by the arm. This, compared with how long it took for him to recover, has become something of a source of dislike, turning him a bit bitter and jaded. Immediately bringing up the arm or what he cannot do is a strong dislike for him, and making fun of him might cause him to attack (which has happened more than once). What he hates the most however is when people tread him as an invalid who cannot take care of himself, and more than once this has turned into him screaming at people in a (semi-)public setting.

As such, he's careful when it comes to showing interest in people because he's used to being turned down or seen as unattractive all the time. This has bred a certain loneliness and distance in him, something that his teachers have noted that he shoud overcome if he wants to become a doctor. As for interest, Simon was initially interested in girls only though he's been having thoughts about guys recently as well. He is very much open to a relationship and keeps an eye open, however with the disinterest he's come to expect he'd take something for one night over something long-term. He will not accept pity fucks however; he's got his pride.[/collapse]

[collapse=Variants of Simon]Simon's description given above is only the "default" version of him. A few possible variants include:

- Younger Simon (18 or so). The accident happened when he was younger, so he's gotten used to his new arm.
- Doctor Westfield (30+). After graduating Simon became a prosthetist and is now designing limbs for his patients. Possible DILF looks.
- Cyberpunk Simon. Takes place in a Cyberpunk setting. His arm will be more advanced, and might include a few extra options. Can be combined with either of the above:
-- More Punk than Cyber: a younger Simon making his place in the world.
-- More Cyber than Punk: Either a corporate-sponsored doctor or a Ripperdoc working in a backalley (but clean!) clinic where he repairs and installs new limbs.
- Fantasy Simon. In this case he's more of a tinkerer or an artificer with a self-made arm to replace one he lost in an incident.[/collapse]

And no, I don't do things that sexualize his missing arm. You don't get to be fucked by the stump. Go away.
