[i]Not every cowgirl is a placid, docile little thing. Some come out of the mold with more brains than it takes for milking and mooing. Some of them use this intelligence to help the relationship between farmer and livestock. When you can't keep a thought in your head for more than a minute, it helps to have someone who can remember that Milker #5 is a little too hard and that Feed Trough C always leaves the meal tasting funny.

Some of them, though, aren't egregious enough to use their smarts to their advantage. Instead, they become trapped in self-awareness, hopelessly aware of the singlety of their existence and lacking the courage to express their dissatisfaction. The daily smiles and affectionate lowing when they're hooked up to the pumps is exhausting, and the puffed up pride of their fellow milkers only makes them more despondent.

Whatever oddity it is that introduces this misery, it tends to result in a couple of other quirks as well. The fat that would normally go to filling out a cow's frame and insulating them gets used up in their head, leaving them skinnier and without the insulation that allows other, properly-formed cows to prance around all seasons of the year in their bikinis. It took a farmhand noticing this one curled up in a pile of straw and shivering on the verge of hypothermia to remedy that problem. Sure, the design of her jacket is a little childish, but it's better than the cold.[/i]
