How about instead, you try changing that? Start something up, world-build a little, or just flat out ask if anyone wants to RP. That's a much better use of your time and effort. If you can grab the interest of just one other person and involve them in a scene, suddenly your problem will be solved! And better yet, you'll earn my undying gratitude and appreciation! Keeping the Park lively and active is a constant struggle, so any help in that endeavor would be a huge relief![/indent]

[indent][color=yellow][b][s]Wandering around aimless and idle. Or just sitting on a random bench[/s][/b][/color]: This one is real common. It's also highly ineffective if your goal is to RP in the Park. I would suggest, instead of making what I call a 'Passive Post', try instead to put your character [b]somewhere[/b] inside Taystie Park, and have them doing [b]something[/b]. It could be as simple as waiting in line for a ride, going to get something to eat, visiting a themed area, or walking down a fun-filled street or avenue. Think about providing [b]hooks[/b] (IE: Things for other players and their characters to latch on to and enter the scene with), as well as offering some tidbits about your character's traits, goals, and desires. Give us some direction, and I bet other players will be that much more responsive back. Don't fault the room if you fail to bring something interesting to the table, a nice profile picture isn't always enough to get it done around here.[/indent]

[indent][color=yellow][b][s]Not posting because you don't want to "interrupt"[/s][/b][/color]: I like to say and think that the word "Interrupt" doesn't exist in Taystie Park, and yet so many times I hear people saying how they want or wish they could join in, but because RP is already going on in the room, they will wait instead. Anytime is a good time to post quite frankly, because after all: [i]the more the merrier![/i] As long as you're [b]adding[/b] to the fun and contributing productively to an on-going scene instead of subtracting, it's to the benefit of Taystie Park and something I'm always overjoyed to see. I should also note that that is no upper limit on how many separate and distinct RP scenes can be going on at once within the room. If what is currently being played out isn't of much interest to you, please feel free to start up something different. As long as people are paying attention and reading, it's not that difficult to follow the action. [indent][color=yellow][b][s]Getting hung up on Dom and Sub Preferences[/s][/b][/color]: Everybody has them, even I do, and while the dynamic between dom, sub, (And switch) can be a useful tool for laying out a fun RP scene, I also see it get in the way more often than not. People see some word on another person's profile and assume they don't want to RP or that they wouldn't be interested. Instead of just "assuming", I think it's much better to simply ask. Many times, people's profiles are outdated or fail to convey the kind of nuance a real human being has. On that same note, there is no reason, at all, why two "Subs" or two "doms" can't RP together. In fact, there are so many great reasons why they SHOULD. All it takes is a little thought and added creativity to get around any obstacle in Taystie Park, like for example introducing a "Third party" that can push the action of the scene or control certain elements that players and their characters wouldn't normally do. Some of the best scenes I've seen and been in have come from these kinds of pairing, so I recommend others give it a try sometimes. And if all else fails, the best mindset to have going into Taystie is to act and treat everyone else like a Switch, or better yet, simply treat them like CHARACTERS and let whatever happens next unfold naturally and organically. <3[/indent]

It's the lifeblood of a place like this, what keeps it alive and active, so find the ride of your dreams, that tantalizing attraction, curious little kink shop, or mouthwatering delicatessen and let us know all about it. Doing so might seem like a daunting task, and it's often the hardest part, but once you get the ball rolling, the rest will feel like a breeze![/indent]

[indent][color=yellow][b]Flexibility[/b][/color]: Speaking from experience, sometimes things just don't go like you planned or imagined they would. You can try and chart out the perfect RP scene, beat by beat, moment for moment, but more often than not a wrench gets thrown into the works, and if you don't adjust accordingly, the whole thing could go up in flames! Because of the nature of public chatrooms and Taystie Park as a whole, little wrinkles and unforeseen hiccups can occur semi-regularly, since any true "control" over the environment is merely an illusion. Examples could be added players and the characters they might introduce to a already ongoing scene, as well as unpredicted twists and directions introduced by some of the current participants. [indent][color=yellow][b][s]Laziness[/s][/b][/color]: It's important to always put effort into your RP, regardless of your own personal skill level and proficiency. RPing is mutual storytelling, and while some are able to tolerate lopsided work when writing that story, most will prefer that things are equal. Speaking for myself, I tend to perform better when I'm given plenty of enticing and well-written stuff to work with, and when everyone is writing to their highest potential, we all benefit in the end! It's okay to not feel 100% or fully invested, it just means maybe you'd be better off taking a break and recharging your mental batteries so that next time you can give Taystie Park your full attention. It will always be waiting for you, I promise.[/indent]

[indent][color=yellow][b][s]Narrow Focus[/s][/b][/color]: This one is more difficult to really describe, but when you notice it first hand, it can be extremely debilitating for all parties involved. It is also a trait I sympathize with and I think most people can say they have, at some point, fallen into a mood where they only wanted one specific thing and refused to budge or adapt that idea at all. The problem is that when you limit yourself too much to specifics, you cast a smaller and smaller net. RP, at minimum, takes two people, and if you're unable to appeal to another person's likes, interests, and current desires, you will NEVER actually RP. It's a terrible situation to be in, and even if you do get the odd person every once in a while to reciprocate, you're going to be fighting an uphill battle the next time to return to that same narrow idea, again and again and again. The great thing about Taystie Park is the endless mutability and remixability it allows. You CAN return to the same kink, but at a different angle and in a different context![/indent]

[indent][color=yellow][b][s]Judgmental[/s][/b][/color]: I will be the first to admit that I can sometimes be quite judgmental due to my time and experience both on F-List and in the Taystie Park room in particular. I can become jaded, meanspirited, stubborn, or even pessimistic and cynical. It's important to stay grounded though, be self-aware, and remember that we all started somewhere in this kinky journey of inner discovery and outward expression. Nobody is perfect, but we're also all share a common thread that has led us here, one way or another. Try to be understanding, give people a chance, and don't let past mistakes and assumptions cloud your vision of the present. Everyone deserves a chance and an opportunity to impress!~[/indent]

[indent][color=yellow][b][s]Shyness[/s][/b][/color]: This is by far the trait which I have the most empathy for, yet still I felt it was important and proper to list it as something that's undesirable in the grand scheme of Taystie Park. Now that's not to say you should feel discouraged or disallowed from joining if you consider yourself a shy person, it's just that the very public and open nature of our community can sometimes cause issue and discomfort, especially since everyone who engages in RP here is expected to do it in front of an audience, for the delight and pleasure of everyone watching. I do truly believe that shyness is something that can be overcome, reduced, and eventually mitigated, and I see myself as living proof of that fact. Shame too, is something that I've used Taystie to cast off, and the benefits of having done soo are too many to count! If you can conquer your shy nature (and it is completely natural to be shy when joining Taystie Park for the first time), you will find yourself that much more confident, liberated, and empowered, all of which are insanely sexy and attractive in their own right! Just give it a chance. Once that stage fright is gone, you won't regret it! [/indent]
