[noparse][justify][/noparse][justify]Text exceeding several lines worth of stuff. it works best on paragraphs and makes sure everything in those paragraphs equals the same length horizontally so you don't have to sit there and make sure all the lines are the same length. The final line will not be the right length because then the words would be really stretched out and things just don't look good that way. This means also that your 'every line should be equal' creation will work on every screen. If you do it by hand, your profile looks donked up as hell because you suddenly have half a line for like a word or two just below the main line. [collapse=Tricksy Coding and Tips][color=white]Putting code together in piles can be very very annoying. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.[/color]
[noparse][indent][big][color=purple]This works fine.[/color][/big][/indent][/noparse]
[indent][big][color=purple]See?[/color][/big][/indent]

[color=white]But try to add bold just anywhere and...[/color]
[noparse][indent][big][color=purple][b]This will not work, breaks all your code, and gives you warnings.[/b][/color][/big][/indent][/noparse]

[color=white]Instead you have to have it in this order:[/color]
[noparse][indent][b][big][color=purple]This is great![/color][/big][/b][/indent][/noparse]
[indent][b][big][color=purple]Isn't it great?[/color][/big][/b][/indent]

[color=white]So if you ever come across something annoying that doesn't work, remember to change the order around and see if it helps. Sometimes you just gotta work hard to make a code that works. A quick helpful reminder for this is that sub is almost always going to be the nest closest to the center (b/i/u can have one iteration inside). It's sort of the "most submissive" tag, and breaks if you even just have it outside of [s]slash out[/s] code, and the same goes for the twin tag of sup.

A good general idea of order is header, color, decoration, size. Collapse/quote/indent can be thrown in almost anywhere. Using square brackets can break code. Usernames can't be resized or colored so you have to close all the size tags, (also all the tags inside the size tags), reopen the color/everything tags, then write the url code, and then reopen everything on the other side. URls can only be emsmallened by using the [noparse][small][/noparse] tag, so close any subs you're using. You can layer color codes by the way so you don't have to close those to start new ones, which also means you can color links-- in interesting ways. Example:

[indent][indent][quote][color=red][small]Hi I'm not a link.[/small] [color=orange][u][color=red][user]Profile References[/user] says [small][url=http://www.link.com/]I am.[/url][/small][/color][/u][/color] [small]I'm not again![/small][/color]
[noparse][color=red][small]Hi I'm not a link.[/small] [color=orange][u][color=red][user]Profile References[/user] says [small][url=http://www.link.com/]I am.[/url][/small][/color][/u][/color] [small]I'm not again![/small][/color][/noparse][/quote][/indent][/indent][/color][/collapse]

[collapse=Quicky F. A. Q.]
[color=blue][b]Q. How do I put the 'drop down' from collapses all the way to the right?[/b][/color]
[color=white][indent][small]A. Simple! Use the indent code around it! Each time you indent, you go in by a small amount. You can't use the special spaces to do this because headers automatically 'jump down' to the next line, rendering it just a line of spaces and a sad user.[/small][/indent][/color]

[color=blue][b]Q. How do I change the color of collapses?[/b][/color]
[color=white][indent][small]A. Another simple one, just put the color tags on the outside of the collapse. This one is unique, because it allows users to color all the text inside, and then put color codes in before closing the first one. This means you can layer colors! [/small][/indent][/color]

[s][color=blue][b]Q. How do I get that cool shadow on black text?[/b][/color]
[indent][small][color=white]A. To give your black text a drop shadow, you just need to double up on color coding. First color=yellow, then color=black in that order. If you do it right, you get[/color][/small] [color=yellow][color=black][small]shadowed black text[/small][/color][/color][small] [color=white]instead of plain[/color] [color=black]black text[/color].[/small][/indent][/s] [color=white]Currently broken thanks to F-list changing the color black to... some... weird sad grey thing. Use at own risk.[/color]

[color=blue][b]Q. Can I use that for anything else?[/b][/color]
[color=white][indent][small]A. Colors can be layered really easily using the u and the s codes. Like so![/small] [color=white][s][color=yellow][u][color=red][small]EEEEEEEE[/small][/color][/u][/color][/s][/color][small] That's uh [/small] [noparse] [color=white][s][color=yellow][u][color=red][small]EEEEEEEE[/small][/color][/u][/color][/s][/color][/noparse][small] in no parse code. Use this with a light hand, it can cause some serious design issues, and probably just hurts everyone's eyes a lot rather than being super useful, except perhaps when making neat borders and text designs.[/small][/indent][/color]

[color=blue][b]Q. What's with the big pictures made out of eicons?[/b][/color]
[color=white][indent][small]A. That would be called a mosaic here on F-list, although for the most part they've been replaced by inlines. Basically you take a picture, break it into 100x100px icons, upload them one by one into the Icon Gallery (under Account) and then place it on a profile as art. They shrink down to 50x50 or so, and then look gorgeous. Don't snag other people's mosaics as that's like, really rude. Ask them permission, and remember to give them credit.

Like so:[/small]
[eicon]kablammo1[/eicon][eicon]kablammo2[/eicon][eicon]kablammo3[/eicon][eicon]kablammo4[/eicon]
[eicon]kablammo5[/eicon][eicon]kablammo6[/eicon][eicon]kablammo7[/eicon][eicon]kablammo8[/eicon]

[small]Gorgeous! Thanks Ka-Blammo! comic room for the loaner. You can use eicon mosaics, in chatrooms as well as profiles to give your chatroom a unique banner![/small] [url=http://imagesplitter.net/]This[/url] [small]site can be used to quickly and easily split up your images. 400x400px images and smaller can be set up as icons, but the end result will always be 100x100px on the icon page, and 50x50px when coded.[/small] [url=http://picresize.com/]This[/url][small] site can be used to resize your image to something that is equally divisible by 100 so your pictures stay nice and neat when you chop them up. And[/small] [url=http://www166.lunapic.com/editor/?action=transparent]This[/url] [small]can be used to add transparency to your pictures, so they match all backgrounds! This can also be used for transparency in inline images, handy right? Thank Aizen for this handy dandy list of sites![/small][/indent][/color]

[color=blue][b]Q. What symbols can I use to put my custom kinks first?[/b][/color]
[color=white][indent][small]A. In order from highest ranked (and therefore top of the list) to least: ! " # $ % & ' ( * + - . / : <= > ? These symbols can all be used to be "first" and you can follow them with other symbols without issue. You can also use them to further rank custom kinks! They also stack, so if you use two ++ like so, it'll rank higher than a simple one + kink. Enjoy!

Hey big news! Custom kinks can now be ordered first no matter what, using an individual profile option under settings when editing. No more messy customs and you can use any symbol on top now! This order still holds true though.[/small][/indent][/color]

[color=blue][b]Q. How BIG can I go?[/b][/color]
[indent][small][color=white]A. The description field holds up to 200,000 characters, including those used for BBcode. That's a bit of a lie, because the system craps out around 192,000 to 194,000 and spits out an error message if you have any non-standard characters. That is still, if you average it out, 36,000 words? Give or take?[/color][/small][user]Loki Wodenson[/user][small] [color=white]used to be a maximum size until the increase, it was at 96,706 characters and gots an error if added to because some of the special characters take up extra space. Some of it's been turned into an inline but it's still a good estimate for about half the size you can go on these things. Sooner or later it'll probably reach 200k who are we kidding.[/color][/small][/indent]

[color=blue][b]Q. What font does F-list use, so I can make my inline images match?[/b][/color]
[color=white][indent][small]A. Veranda, size 12. You can use anything you want, I mean inlines dictate freedom, but this is the text type indicated in F-list's coding at the moment. If you would like to help support the suggestion of allowing text to wrap around images without the need for adding text directly to the image, please go [url=https://www.f-list.net/vote.php?fid=2643]here[/url] and vote![/small][/indent][/color]

[collapse=A Literacy Scale Guide: What's your grammar competence?][color=white]

Alright, we all know there's a Literacy Scale on your profile. It's typically under Profile Info > RPing Preference > Grammar Competence. The only problem is it doesn't have any descriptions, nor does it explain exactly what each of these levels entail. Therefore, I wrote this up for you guys can use it to guide your hand on whether you're fluent or doctoral. Remember! This is a guide to your ability to write the English language, and does not apply to style or length. J.R.R Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, Charles Dickens, and Douglas Adams are all Doctoral for instance, but wow do they have different styles.

[color=blue][b]Not Very Fluent[/b][/color]
[indent][indent][indent][color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Incoherent, or unreadable spelling.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Fundamental misunderstanding of word use.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Misused grammar.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Terrible tense use.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Haphazard punctuation.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Capitalization errors.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Invasive text speak, or excessive emoticons.[/sub]
[indent]Example:[quote]snow is there coolest oki so lyk,,, imapologie but fuck u,. :))) :) lol xD :lif-happy: *walked to dor bye[/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent]

[color=blue][b]Somewhat Fluent[/b][/color]
[indent][indent][indent][color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Better grasp of language, but still doesn't "get" larger words.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Punctuation still Haphazard.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Less common capitalization errors. (Usually gets the first letter of a sentence, misses nouns and others.)[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Much less text speak, emoticons still exist but less excessive.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Some grammar/tense issues.[/sub]
[indent]Example:[quote]*He walk through teh door with his hair flaming and was really kewl* hi my name is snow i am a heroe, what is 'indefference'? n_n [/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent]

[color=blue][b]Fluent[/b][/color]
[indent][indent][indent][color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Understands most common words, but has issues with larger ones.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Capitalization is not typically an issue, but finer rules may be ignored.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Tense errors occasionally, but tends to stick to a common error instead of being all over the map.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Grammar has a few issues, but is okay.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Punctuation is used mostly properly, but finer rules aren't known.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Very basic language patterns.[/sub]
[indent]Example:[quote]He walked through the door with his hair flaming and was really cool "Hi my name is Snow, and I am a hero" he said "Automaton or differential spectrum is not a word you would see me use" [/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent]

[color=blue][b]Advanced[/b][/color]
[indent][indent][indent][color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Understands most common words, and knows some larger ones.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Lack of tense errors, and grammar is typically fine.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Punctuation is fine, but may still not catch all the finer rules.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Capitalization is typically fine, may not know a few things.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Use of words is stronger, using more complex patterns.[/sub]
[indent]Example:[quote]He walked through the door with his hair aflame, and was also really cool,"Hi my name is Snow, and I am a hero." he said,"you might see me use words like aflame, or complex, but words like ragamuffin, or quixotic are still beyond me." [/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent]

[color=blue][b]Very Advanced[/b][/color]
[indent][indent][indent][color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Understands all/most words, and only occasionally misses one.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Punctuation, capitalization, tense, and grammar are all fine.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]More complex patterns of speech, which no longer follow gradeschool rules.[/sub]
[indent]Example:[quote]He wandered through the door with his hair aflame, coolness radiated from him, "Hi, my name is Snow, and I am a hero," he said, "You will probably see some advance vocabulary in what I write, and my words seem to flow better than before. I will know words like befuddled, but apropos and kleptothermic may still be beyond me." [/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent]

[color=blue][b]Post Graduate[/b][/color]
[indent][indent][indent][color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Understands all words, or will look them up before use to make sure they understand it.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Punctuation, capitalization, tense, and grammar are impeccable.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Language has evolved to the point that it no longer has any of the clunky learned stylings.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]May use language creatively, lending themselves to made up languages or accents within character speech.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]May use the text as a secondary way to interact with meta knowledge without allowing the character to use it.[/sub]
[indent]Example:[quote]Wandering through the door with hair aflame was a man, ironically although his hair was on fire, he still seemed cooler than anyone here, "Hey, m'name is Snow, and I'm a hero," he announced looking smugly around, "Ya'll gonna see some really nice language here. Sometimes I'll scuff it on purpose for a certain feel, since I may play a character who is a pirate or a hick and ain't gonna know the more complex workin's of the language like I do." However, after hearing this, one should recognize that the player has a unique and extremely complex ability to use words, including ones which avoid the stereotypical nature of certain writing types. [/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent]

[color=blue][b]Doctoral[/b][/color]
[indent][indent][indent][color=blue]●[/color] [sub]May really dig deep on that language shindig.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Precise use of language, and ability to do just about anything.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]May skip articles, and focus on style more than anything. A complex knowledge of how language works means they can do more with it.[/sub]
[color=blue]●[/color] [sub]Knows every single little thing about how to write, including how to use semicolons appropriately.[/sub]
[indent]Example:[quote]Wandering through the door, came a man whose hair was aflame; this was ironic because he emanated a certain sense of coolness about his person as he did so,"Hey, m'name is Snow. I am a hero!" the announcement was coupled with a smug smile, "Y'all will see real complex words like morphology, or soliloquy, but my talkin' ain't gonna change if it's what I think a character should do." The ability of the writer however, extends far beyond others. They write concise sentences. They write extremely long, flowing sentences, and understand that by doing so they tire a reader. Therefore they may add a short one to rest. Their writing can be many styles, but typically seem to be really together, with no errors that cause a disjointed feeling while reading.[/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent][/color]

[collapse=Symbols]
Okay so. If you can't see all these, go [url=http://unicode.org/help/display_problems.html]here[/url] and fix that if you want. If you can see all them, you could technically go [url=http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/index.htm]here[/url] and find a few I might not have. But the following symbols are ones that worked on my ye olde 95 Windows piece of crap a decade ago, so you know mostly they'll be visible to a good number of outdated computers just in case.

This section was donated by [user]Mr_Vyce[/user] and written by Terminus Est 13 on TVTropes, who then gave Mr_Vyce permission to repost them which he shared with me. These are for use in describing what kind of RPer you are, and what kind of RP you're looking for. Possibly even for use as custom kinks! I personally think it's amazing.
[indent][collapse=RP Alignments]The [b]Gentle/Neutral/Grim[/b] axis refers to [i]the world, how it looks, how gritty it is, etc[/i].
A [i]Gentle[/i] world is a bright and polished world, with lots of color and generally a treat to relax in.
A [i]Grim[/i] world is a world being torn apart, with ruins and remains strewn about everywhere and other such fuckery.

The [b]Light/Grey/Dark[/b] axis refers to [i]the setting's morality and philosophy, whether it espouses or decries heroism/pragmatism[/i].
A [i]Light[/i] world has good heroes doing the right thing for maybe the right reasons, delivering everyone to a happier place.
A [i]Dark[/i] world is where optimism is laughed at, and "heroes" get themselves killed with their meaningless antics.

[hr]

[b]Gentle Light (Happiness):[/b] [i]An optimistic and cheerful world.[/i]
While it may or may not be a Saturday Morning cartoon world, good usually triumphs and good events makes things a better place for people to live in. Civilizations are cheerful, evil is unabashedly bad and wrong, and the general goal of life is to be a better person. It may seem all too easy to brush these types of worlds off as "simple" or "naive", but they can easily deal with questions about deep philosophical concepts or just throw it all aside for a feel-good romp.

[b]Neutral Light (Justice):[/b] [i]A world where heroes are beset by problems inherent to—rather than inflicted on—the world.[/i]
Perhaps the problems lie as an integral part of human nature, and evil is always a prominent part of mankind. Or maybe the heroes are so beset with flaws that they stumble just as often (or more often) than they do good. The heroes are still at the top, and they will still do everything they can to succeed—and frequently will. Now, however, evil is no longer confined in its mountain layer, and instead is very much a part of the world surrounding everyone. It is deeply ingrained.

[b]Grim Light (Persistence):[/b] [i]The usual choice for epic fantasy settings, the world is falling apart from an evil that's considered unstoppable, or is simply beyond human capabilities.[/i]
People are dying in droves, continents are being wiped off the face of the earth, and terror is being sown about. But even in these dark times, people of courage can stand up and do what needs to be done to make things better. Whether the world will return to normal afterwards or will remain ruined is something usually considered, but either way, even throughout all of the troubles heroes find it in themselves to do great things.

[b]Gentle Grey (Neither):[/b] [i]Might makes right.[/i]
The world spins on its gentle axis and people go about their daily lives, but people of all origins and motives clash together for dominance. Or perhaps the conflict isn't so dramatic, and people simply go about their lives without any care and simply taking what comes head-on, but either way there is no moral line to call a definite top. Good and evil clash together or mingle together, people abide by their own moral codes or by whatever corporations they work for, but the line between good and evil either isn't quite so clear-cut... or worse, isn't really all that important.

[b]Neutral Grey (Nothing):[/b] [i]A world that can flop anywhere on the axis.[/i]
A Neutral Grey world is a world that means one of three things:
1. The world is inherently all-consuming morally that it can encompass any number of things.
2. The system has gotten so many expansions dealing with so many different genres that it can handle any particular thing.
3. The system just doesn't bother with such things, be it out of bare-bones presentation or a complete disregard for them.

[b]Grim Grey (Aggression):[/b] [i]The world is demolished, ruined, and on the brink of terror.[/i]
Despite all that, there is still a shred of hope... but the hope is exactly that, a shred. Perhaps it lies in the hands of the questionable anti-heroes, or perhaps the villains aren't that bad, or perhaps both are in equal force. There are still people pushed to do great things, but as for the how or why, well... perhaps you shouldn't ask for details. Alternatively, what's left of the world is being squabbled over by forces of both good and evil, with the last remnants of humanity resting strictly on how noble/proper these squabbles are. They can quickly go any way...

[b]Gentle Dark (Deception):[/b] [i]A world with a hidden dark side.[/i]
While at first glance it may look cheerful and polished—perhaps even happy—underneath is only malevolence. People may be smiling, but it's usually out of ignorance or because it's been forced upon them. A Gentle Dark world may have happiness actively enforced, or maybe the reality is shielded from people, or maybe because people just don't know, but the result is the same: Only those that know the dark underworld of things know just how horrible life really is. Everyone else blissfully lives on their daily lives, none the wiser...

[b]Neutral Dark (Desperation):[/b] [i]A world falling into destruction.[/i]
There is a great darkness, and people can only do their best to fight against it... but it hasn't entirely affected the world yet. The world is changing—most certainly for the worse—but for the most part, it's somewhat the same. Perhaps the change has already occurred, and now the world is a melancholy purgatory while people scrap at each other. A Neutral Dark world is, while not horrific, incredibly depressing. This is a world inherently going wrong bit-by-bit with next to nothing stopping it, but those within can hold ground for just a bit longer.

[b]Grim Dark (Death):[/b] [i]A world that, per its name, is both grim and dark.[/i]
[i]"Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."[/i] This is a hellish world where there is no light, and happiness is fleeting. It can be either a 90's grimdark or a genuinely hateful existence, but either way there is very little to be cheerful about. In these places, the cynic is always right, and what can go wrong will go horribly wrong. The highest standard of morality you can get is someone who is willing to compromise less than the other... and even then, they tend to end up getting traumatized or dying in a horrifically cruel and meaningless fashion.[/collapse][/indent][/color]

[heading][color=blue]How to add Subfetishes[/color][/heading]
[color=white]Go to [url=http://www.f-list.net/experimental/subfetish.php]This Link[/url] and put in your character's username at the end as the page itself describes if you want to do a character other than your default. You should have ALL your kinks filled out, and have Custom Kinks already made to use as headers for each subfetish you desire. So say you wanna put all the vore you don't like in one pile; you make a "Vore" custom fetish, and then go here. Then you move all those vore fetishes under that custom title. Fun![/color]

[heading][color=blue]Changing your Character Name[/color][/heading]
[color=white]Got a character you love the history on, but the name is bugging you? Once a week you can play God of F-list and use [url=http://www.f-list.net/experimental/rename.php]this link[/url] to change a character's given name. BUT WAIT there's some warnings: If you're an owner of a room on the name you're changing, give it to someone else (or an alt) for a minute while you swap out. If you're a mod? Make 'em de-op and re-op you. Chatserver doesn't play nice with this system, I'm pretty sure it'll forget you for ignores too but don't abuse that crap or you'll just get banned for being a jerk. Otherwise you'll keep your bookmarks, your date of creation, last update, all of that. But you'll break any links to your character that have been handwritten into a profile. Be nice and warn people you changed your name so they can edit their relationship sections![/color]

[heading][color=blue]The Almighty Blank eIcon![/color][/heading]
[color=white]This is the code for [eicon]Blank Icon[/eicon][noparse][eicon]Blank Icon[/eicon][/noparse]. You can use it for extra spaces in your headers, or anywhere else you don't mind the line height changed for a line or two. This can be used really creatively to make gorgeous profiles that have a neat look to them.[/color]

[heading][color=blue]Working Decorative Spaces![/color][/heading]
[color=white]Ever wanted a working double space or more in your profile? Well! Check it out! This allows for indents on only the first line, extra spaces in between titles or letters, and even ASCII pictures if one is creative. T h i s i s j u s t l o v e l y. They also come in various sizes, so if you need something to fit this TEENY TINY SPACE or to fill out a GIANT HOLE, you're covered. There's some issues with other browsers, like IE, but if you're on IE you're used to things breaking and looking less awesome. They might not appear the same on every screen, so be careful about use! Each space in the collection is between the straight brackets ( || ) even the ones that look empty. These show up differently on different screens, so try to use the exact same number to make an 'any size' hole that matches with each other, instead of very fine tuned holes.[/color]

[heading][color=blue]RPedia: The Roleplay Encyclopedia[/color][/heading]
[color=white]Once upon a time I decided that explaining the same thing about roleplay over and over was old hat, and that the makers of books everywhere had the right idea: Get it down in one place, and let the people read! Thus was born [url=http://RPedia.tumblr.com/]RPedia[/url]. Are you unsure of your roleplaying ability? Do you have questions about it that need answering? Do you feel like having a link to explain certain aspects of RP on your profile could really help save some space and headaches? That's what we're here for. Remember this is for people who want to get better at RP not necessarily everyone, and it can be a bit unclassy and filled with snark on a bad day. If you're having fun, and getting RP, remember that you don't have to do anything you don't want to! Here's a list of greatest hits, and F-List related posts to get you started, so you don't have to troll around trying to figure out what's good:

[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/25585506499]The Big Book of Sex: A Tactless Resource[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]This post is about 13k words about word use, positions, anatomy, and realistic explanations of how everything works. From how important lube is in anal, to a section or two about genders that aren't the common slot and tab system. If you don't understand the details of sex (where the prostate is, that women don't pee out their clit, how to fuck someone with no external genitalia) then this post is for you. Even experienced RPers can brush up on some neat facts here.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/83658112023]How to Murder a Chatroom: Why an OOC Room is a Bad Idea[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]An important post that came about because of F-list. This post describes why and how an OOC room may not be the best idea for your burgeoning bouncing baby chatroom. It gives ways to get around this issue, and concise reasons why it won't work out. With experienced roleplayers giving you serious input on what they think about it, and their past histories with it![/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/63781855155]Roleplaying Daddy (and Mommy) Issues[/url] (#tw:abuse)[indent][indent][sub][i]Somehow this seems like something F-list might occasionally need what with the abundance of people playing characters with the aforementioned issues. This is an in depth look at all forms of parental issues, from outright abuse, to simple over-protectiveness. It explains what could have happened, and what the typical outcome of these scenarios is as well as characters from popular media which fit these traits. This post is to help you roleplay these with a new dimension of understanding behind the motives of your character.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/61146088433]What Should I Put For my OOC?[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]Since F-listers usually have an OOC section describing a few things about other things, this is a quick and dirty cheatsheet for things you can add to your profile. Originally written for Tumblr RP Blogs, it still pretty much works for here too. I use it myself when writing up OOC sections so I don't forget anything important.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/60972099420]Grammar and Punctuation: The Why and The Cheatsheet[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]This post explains why "writtin gewd" is important to the online community, and lists a lot of common homophonic mistakes with cute little bitchy rants to help you remember why they are used how their used. C'mon it's got the line "You can bear arms and you’ll carry a gun, and you can have a bear with arms (and teeth, and fur, and god damn he looks unhappy.) but if you want a bare arm you’ll have to shave, and if you want a bare bear, you’ll have to shave the bear, and he might eat you." So at least you'll have a laugh or two if that kind of humor is up your alley. [/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/53434816290]Character Secrets and How To Present Them[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]A quick explanation of meta, and some tips on adding character secrets to your profile, and when they're appropriate or not to do so. Sometimes you just don't want to give people the satisfaction, and sometimes having a trap to catch those who meta is a fantastic idea for weeding out the less fun roleplayers.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/28423463202]Group RP Tips: Social Interaction and Getting RP in Public[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]This post is to help ya'll who walk into a room and no one responds to you, or people who have trouble getting RP rolling because they don't know how to approach others comfortably. It should help looking fun and enticing to other roleplayers, and give you an edge on the competition.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/23606670324]Mary Sues and Gary Stus[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]Simple as the title says! This is a guide to what a Mary Sue is and what general concepts you should be wary of. It'll help anyone who has a Mary Sue get better by explaining why not to do these things, as well as help people ID a Mary Sue from a distance. It's a good post to 'casually post' in a room if people are being creepy, to help modify some behavior without outright causing a fight by telling someone they are a Mary Sue. Some people don't even know they're doing anything that could be wrong! I like keeping this link on my profile as a guide to what I don't particularly like RPing with.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/18253901905]What Not To Do Ever!: The Roleplaying Sins[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]Harsh title aside, this was a scare tactic to explain a lot of very serious problems one sees in the roleplaying community. While some of these are okay in very small doses and in very small groups, they are as a whole the biggest complaints that the roleplaying community has at large. These are things that I have seen blow countless RPs to smithereens. It was put together by consensus over a couple RP forums, sites, and so forth to try and find just the worst things people have encountered. Here they are! It's one of the most popular and agreed with posts on RPedia for a reason.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/14942132874]Character Creation Guide: General Edition[/url] [indent][indent][sub][i]Having trouble thinking of a bunch of details for your character, or figuring out what the best answer is for details you already know you want? This guide is for the most basic OCs! It'll explain in detail what important concepts there might be behind everything from names and origin, to weapons and backstory. It's supposed to be a cheat sheet that helps you flesh out a character. There's a couple other guides on RPedia for some specific fandoms, including Homestuck, Team Fortress 2, and Katekyo Hitman Reborn. Just google RPedia and your series and if there's something for you it usually pops up first in listings.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent]
[color=blue]●[/color] [url=http://rpedia.tumblr.com/post/14994347026]The Anti-Munch Project: The Types and Tribulations of Godmodding[/url][indent][indent][sub][i]Ah yes, and finally one of the more powerful posts. Use it wisely young padawan! This post details a ton of different Godmodding/Munch issues from around 2003 and it's still very very culturally relevant now. This will help you ID what kind of a problem you might be facing with someone (Be it a Puppetmaster controlling your character, or a Quaker 'magically' having access to whatever item they want in their pocket) so you too can tell them you aren't interested. It's a great resource to help you find out why people may not be RPing with you, and what is considered unacceptable in RP! This is another one that is good to 'casually' post in a room or on your profile for people to read and find out why you don't want to RP with them without directly calling them out and hurting their feelings.[/i][/sub][/indent][/indent][/color]

[collapse=How to Make F-list Prettier]
[color=white]So when I sit there and look at F-list all day I notice that the colors aren't... pretty to [i]me[/i]. I don't like how the fonts look, I don't like how white white looks, or the spaces between icons on profiles. When I get pinged, I get this huge orange thing and the font is hard to read, and I don't like the mascot so much. So what do I do? Stylebot.

Using Stylebot, I usually just copy paste the following code into the page (right clicking and selecting Stylebot>Style Element>CSS ) and suddenly the page looks like how I like it. You can change the colors, and fonts, and everything even further but this is the basic look I always use, which even gets rid of the 2px holes between icons so mosaics look great!

[b]WARNING[/b]: This is a third-party unofficial user-created edit of the stylesheet to suit one guy's taste. F-list staff can't help you with it at all, you're basically being rebellious and taking things into your own hands with this. So if you don't like anything it does, erase chunks, save, see what happens, change it around, and mess with it until you like the output. If it breaks, copy paste again. If it breaks f-list, delete all of it and pretend you didn't touch nothin'.

The things the full code does for 1.0 Dark-Theme is: removes the 2px padding for icons, changes site font to 11px, removes the logo, changes the ping messages, ads, chat warnings, and everything else on F-list's dark earth to a different color and style, changes genders to different colors (Friends: Bright Green, Male-Herms: Bright Blue, Males: Denim Blue, Females: Dark Pink, Shemales: Dark Red, Herm: Dark Purple, Cuntboy: Dark Green, Transgender: Orange, and Genderless: Grey), gives a new smaller scrollbar to everything, changes things to smaller sizes, and makes the top-bar slightly opaque. Remember, this is originally just for the author, so if you don't like anything change it up![/color]

[collapse=For those who need an in depth "How To"][color=white]
+ Download [url=https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stylebot/oiaejidbmkiecgbjeifoejpgmdaleoha?hl=en]this[/url] to your Chrome web browser.
+ Restart your chrome to make sure it's really on there.
+ There should be a set of tiny orange bars that form an icon under the upper right hand x on chrome. That's your "file" section, go down the list and hover over tools, then click extensions in that menu.
+ Find Stylebot in the list, and there should be something called "options" underneath its section. Click that link.
+ Click Styles. Then "Add a new style."
+ The URL it wants in the top bar there is "*f-list.net"
+ Then paste this into the CSS box below that (It has a 1 because it's counting your lines of code). This is just taking out the 2px space between icons.

[collapse=For Non-sexual Profiles][center][img=84653]nosex2[/img][img=84652]nosex[/img][img=84658]nosex3[/img][/center]
Feel free to pick up one of these three banners (in various sizes) and use it at the top or bottom of your profile. Just upload it to your [url=https://www.f-list.net/inlines.php]Inline Images[/url] and use the landscape photo next to the words "Preview BBCode" at the top of the profile editor to add it! It's just like any other png online, so feel free to just right click an image and save.

These banners are so that people can tell at a glance if a person is not interested in being approached for new sexual roleplays. It's meant to be an easy to spot universal banner, recognizable and visible, so please use it centered at the top or bottom of your profile so it doesn't interfere with the look of your coding. You don't have to of course! But if you find you are approached with sexual offers on characters not meant for such things, or where you aren't looking for them, it may be helpful to spread awareness that F-list has non-sexual/non-smut/story-only players, or even characters who are off the market except to a small number of players, with this easy concise image. Not to mention you can upload it once and reuse it as often as you like, or even remove it when you're looking for sex! Hope this helps out with making it easy to spot characters not looking for new sex plots.

As a note, [i]this is not to shame those looking for smut[/i], and if a character with this banner IS looking for it, or enjoying it in public, it is not up to you to police them in any form. It is merely to designate that they don't want to be approached for sex by other players they do not have an agreement with, not that they won't enjoy it at their leisure and whenever they choose to.[/collapse]

[heading][color=blue]Extra Kink Repository[/color][/heading]
[color=white]There's a lot of kinks in this world, and you can right click and add them to your profile from other profiles. How do we make this easy? We've been writing kinks you can grab for yourself without even thinking about it! Down below is 4 categories of kinks you can use on your own profiles. Feel free to edit them any way you please, they're just there for you guys. [b][color=blue]Favorite[/color][/b] kinks are [i]action/act[/i] based kinks, [b][color=green]Yes[/color][/b] kinks are [i]body/genitalia/physical item[/i] based, [b][color=yellow]Maybe[/color][/b] kinks are [i]settings/scenario/background element[/i] based, and [b][color=red]No[/color][/b]'s are [i]Non-RP[/i] kinks which describe OOC information. There's well over 200 generally worded character kinks that F-list either doesn't have, or doesn't have in detail, so enjoy![/color]

[indent][indent][indent][color=white]Kinks may have extended information sections, which are here and can be copy-pasted into your profile:[/color]
[collapse=A/B/O Kink Information] This information relates to the A/B/O Dynamics kink, and fills in background details for the concept.
In most cases in A/B/O Scenarios, sex and gender are considered separate. Gender is a choice of presenting visually as male/female/other, while physical sex appears the same in all genders, and breeding instead takes the form of Omega/Alpha/Beta. Omegas are fertile, taking the position of breedable mate, and go into heats wherein they attract "mates" who then bond with them through sex. Alphas typically bond easier than Betas who may not bond at all. Alphas cannot usually bond with other Alphas, Omegas cannot usually bond with other Omegas. Betas can bond with anything. A bond causes a shift in smell in the receptive Beta/Omega, although much stronger in Omegas which marks them as 'taken' even while in heat and will fend off other Alphas from attempting to 'help' with a heat. An Omega/Alpha/Beta will constantly be attracted by the smell of their mate, even while others seem to miss it entirely. They are also especially in tune with scent changes in relation to emotions such as fear or arousal.

Alphas generally have a knot, while Betas may not have one at all, and Omegas will [i]never[/i] 'pop' a knot like an Alpha will. There are also class differences, with Alphas taking control figure jobs, Betas filling in the middle man, and Omegas typically becoming subordinate. Alphas can manipulate Omegas by smell, and voice as Omegas are naturally attuned to obeying Alphas. Omegas have better senses of smell, allowing them to pick up on which sex each person they meet is as a safety feature, as well as smelling emotions so as to obey quicker. To avoid a bonding, multiple Alphas and/or Betas may take an Omega in heat to confuse the body. Alphas have little to no self-restraint around an Omega in heat. Heat suppressants may keep heat at bay but are unhealthy to use constantly as they can cause intense periods of heat which may put the Omega at risk. There are also 'cycle' periods, high cycles can cause heat more than once a month, low cyclers may go into heat once every few years.

[b]Population wise 22% are Alphas.[/b]
Meta Alpha 2% | Alpha 6% | Sigma Alpha 14 %
[sub]Meta Alphas are the top of the top, they take no shit, are highly aggressive and can be temperamental as well as being likely high-cycling. They can be atypical in their ability to control themselves, leading to a relatively lower rate of bonding and/or multiple bonds or even personality traits from other A/B/O statuses. Typical/Standard Alphas are slightly lower rank, still aggressive and temperamental but are typically normal-cycling (once a year). Sigma Alpha are low-cycling, and the least aggressive/temperamental of the alphas while still being very dominant.[/sub]
[b]74% are Betas.[/b]
Mu beta 3% | Beta 68% | Tau Beta 3%
[sub]Betas are generally easy going, and don't go into rut/heat depending on cycle, but still display the three types in terms of layers of temperament. Mu Beta are the most dominant, sometimes mistaken for a Sigma Alpha. Typical/Standard Beta are pushy but fair. Tau Beta are submissive but not cripplingly so. All Betas could function as either Alphas or Omegas sexually but have a high rate of infertility or inability to "pop" a knot to properly breed a mate.[/sub]
[b]and 4% are Omegas.[/b]
Gamma omega 2%| Omega 1.25%| Meta Omega .75%
[sub]Gamma Omega go into heat on a low-cycle of once every few years or more, and are while highly docile around Alphas, able to work as equals to most Betas. They are at high-risk to be infertile. Standard/Typical Omegas are even more docile/submissive, with heat rates occurring once a year. Meta-Omega are insanely fertile and have a high-cycle which can be once a month or more. Meta Omega are submissive to the extreme to Alphas, but may display atypical traits, even appearing as other A/B/O types when not in heat.[/sub][/collapse][/indent][/indent][/indent]
