So would Nestrol's "appreciators", but for entirely different reasons. He is an assertive and determined lizard sapient with an uncanny knack for chemistry, biology and genetics. He doesn't care who or what he deals with, he's happy all the same to meet new individuals and [b]experiment on[/b] (or with) [b]them[/b] just as he's been experimented on throughout his life. He owes his unique phenotype to being the result of careful [b]genetic engineering[/b]. Most of his time he spends in VarUtil Laboratories, where he was born, partaking in experiments and devising some himself. The spacious facility is filled with all sorts of weird [b]doodads and gizmos[/b], not to mention [b]other results of experimentation[/b] just as bizarre as Nestrol, if not even stranger.

VarUtil Laboratories' operations aren't without difficulties. Sometimes equipment malfunctions and [b]chemicals with bizarre effects on flesh leak out[/b] onto unsuspecting researchers. Once or twice the biolab's [b]specimen escaped[/b] and took out their repressed sex drives on the same researchers that suffered the previous incidents. The worst one of all happened before either of these, spawned from the now-defunct genetic research section. Nestrol is the only survivor of the disaster, besides [b]a certain other[/b], but we don't talk about her. Nestrol occasionally restocks his trusty panic room in case such an event occurs again.

Nestrol has a notoriously [b]short temper[/b]. He doesn't like his underlings fooling around business they haven't been tasked with. To encourage them to behave, he invents various creative "[b]disciplining methods[/b]", some of them too graphic to detail here.

Nestrol's [b]genitalia are unmistakably unique[/b], as this area was the motivation behind his creation: to find out how ridiculously over-sexed a creature could be and still live. They're [b]vastly oversized[/b] by default, making it seldom possible to fit his dick inside anything living, which is why he usually opts to [b]fit things inside it[/b] instead. It's [b]always at least semi-erect at 20 inches[/b], and when appropriately pleased, it [b]grows just 4 inches longer[/b] and a tiny bit thicker, stands up, stiffens, and throbs on its own. On the flipside, too much pre-planning (or 'brainstorming', as some call it) can result in a feeling similar to having a book spoiled before I even started reading it. Plus, it's wasted effort that would be better spent actually roleplaying. If you get a really good idea, I'd actually prefer if you kept it as a surprise for later. The only thing I think must be well thought out is the basic premise of the plot, the 'hook' to build upon: Whether our characters know each other or not, and under which circumstances they meet if they're not interacting to begin with.
[indent][heading][u]Post perspective and tense[/u][/heading][/indent]I mostly write in third person for the sake of more flexibility and because nothing much else works when there's more than two players. I can also write in first/second/third perspective just fine: First when describing my own character, second when describing your character, and third when describing other characters. Also, I pretty much always write in [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_present#In_describing_fiction]historical present[/url]. Since we're more or less coming up with stuff on the fly, it should give a nice feeling that everything is also happening [i]right now[/i] within the story's own context. Makes things seem more urgent and tangible. Also makes it easy to detail past and future events within the story's own context. At least that's how I rationalize the habit.
