[u]Physical Description[/u]
Starting from his head down, Misha stands five feet tall, with shoulder-length blonde hair and green eyes. His skin is relatively pale. His clothing consists of a dark blue "Ushanka", or "Winter Hat" as it's known in the west, a long, ornate trench coat modeled after military drag, and a brown dress shirt and pants underneath, finishing with a hefty pair of boots.

[u]The Battle of Stalingrad[/u]
A battle fought between August 1942 and February 1943, the Battle of Stalingrad is considered one of the bloodiest and fiercest battles of World War 2 and, indeed, in the history of human warfare. The fighting was marred by close-quarters combat (some would bitterly joke about capturing the kitchen but still fighting for the living room and the bedroom. Buildings were literally cleared out room by room, floor by floor) and heavy civilian casualties as the German 6th Army and the 4th Panzer Army entered a city that had been reduced to rubble by intensive pre-invasion bombing courtesy of the Luftwaffe. By November, the Soviets were barely holding onto a few fortified positions along their side of the river which divided the city, the river Volga.

That same November, the Soviets launched Operation Uranus, a flanking maneuver intended to defeat the weaker Hungarian and Romanian armies protecting the bulk of the 6th Army's flanks. The plan worked and the Germans were quickly surrounded and cut off from any reinforcement or resupply. Adolf Hitler himself ordered no retreat or surrender, but continued to send supplies by air and reinforcements to break the encirclement and rally the 6th Army to counterattack. Heavy fighting continued for two months until the Germans were out of food, ammunition, and medicine, and were losing more men to frostbite and gangrene then to the Soviet onslaught. The 6th Army surrendered on February 2nd, 1943. Thus began the push Westward that would spell the beginning of the end for Nazi Germany.

[u]The Life and Times of a Soviet Shota[/u]
Misha Pavlov was born in the Soviet Union in 1931, and grew up with his mother and father in what was then known as Stalingrad. He lived a relatively safe childhood up until the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, where his parents were killed in the initial bombing. An intelligent and pragmatic child, Misha managed to grab a rifle and evade capture for six days. However, he was ultimately taken prisoner while foolishly trying to operate a machine gun nest and shipped off to the Koldichevo concentration camp in what is now Belarus. The camp demanded a diverse set of prisoners, Misha being one of the several Slavic samples.

The Germans had unearthed something at the Koldichevo site, alien technology that can manipulate time, ensuring total German victory Misha was one of the first to test it, he was forcibly sent forward in time to the modern era. However, what the Germans failed to realize is that time machines do not travel in space. So while Misha was lucky enough to end up underground in the collapsed facility, his two escorts ended up about a hundred feet in the air a few miles away. In the act of digging himself out, he was able to rid himself of the tracking device the German scientists had placed on him, leading them to believe the machine was faulty. The Soviet advance forced them to later abandon the facility, where it succumbed to the ravages of time. Time, and some Soviet artillery falling on the science team as they hurriedly evacuated. Misha now seeks to adjust himself to this strange new future, finding out just what the hell happened that cold Russian day.

He does have his submissive streaks, sure, but he's still a preteen-ish boy, so he's still got that children's impetuousness about him. Misha tends to be very sarcastic and deadpan with those he doesn't like. But if you get him to trust you, you've got a heroic friend for life. Despite his young age, or perhaps because of the vulnerability associated with it, Misha is very well-read and pragmatic, owning a collection of model firearms from across history.

[collapse=Fallout, Zombies, and Other Apocalyptic Settings]
Misha will probably be doing one of two things. He'll either be a trader, selling preserved meat and hides caught by his faithful dog, Trotsky, or if the apocalypse is recent, Misha will be headed to a vet clinic to find medicine for the poor pooch, who has [url=http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/hypothyroidism-in-dogs]hypothyroidism[/url]. In these settings, Misha will be a very shrewd and trigger-happy young 'un, often shooting first and asking questions later, which has both saved his life and gotten him out of a lot of trouble![/collapse]

Right?] So it's the 1650's/1770's/1860's, and the mighty sailing ships of the British navy have set out to conquer the world/administrate colonial territory/go to war with Spain, Holland, or France for the thousandth time. Misha is employed on a Privateering vessel called [i]Cape Town Burning[/i] (their warcry is "At 'em, the Burners!) as a ship's boy. Now, not only did the duties of a ship's boy consist of loading powder, transporting messages, and serving food to a bunch of filthy sailors, but many suffered from the sexual advances of the aforementioned sailors, with or without the knowledge of the often deeply religious captains. Misha however, has been able to, quite literally, keep his ass out of trouble... But that all changed when he walked in on a fellow boy in the middle of disrobing...
