Lillian is a pretty mutable character, but if you want to get down to the "playing" part of RP instead of drawing up backstory, I have some presets hashed out. Although they were intended for medical usage, only the most basic programming had been implemented when Lillian was first made aware of them. They were stored in the Computer Sciences building so that the faculty that was working on them could begin coding, and Lillian simply happened to be standing near one of the professors on the project when he remembered that the case of dormant nanobots hadn't been moved yet, so he enlisted Lillian's help. When she realized what she was holding, she suddenly saw her chance to do something, to be someone. Sure, stealing from the university would be illegal and highly immoral, but with so much potential literally in her hands, and the only victim a monolithic university that seemed particularly interested in wringing out every cent of her money that it could...

The nanobots in the case were later recorded as "miscounted", as the number of units that was received was "well below expectations". Lillian didn't get any sleep that night, sitting in front of her computer with an IDE open and the nanites conected to her computer with the spare USB dongle that was in the case. It was partly her existing programming knowledge but mostly a heaping amount of luck that made her the world's first human-nanomachine hybrid within a few months. With uncanny control over her own biology, near-infinite possibilities were afforded to her, a world of advancement for all sentient life opened; she could outweigh the bad on her karmic slate a dozen times over.
