Hitomi is a Devil Summoner. She lives in the Shin Megami Tensei multiverse. Not really stuck to any particular setting in particular, though she'd be better suited to the Devil Summoner world and IV's world. Considering how drastically different each setting is, Hitomi's overall situation would differ depending on the chosen world. See below for a quick run-down for Hitomi in either setting.

Hitomi is a Hunter. She grew up in the subways of Tokyo like practically all the surviving population, living under the protection of the Ashura Kai. A headstrong, brave but somewhat foolhardy girl, Hitomi did not take her situation lying down. As soon as she became old enough to, she sought to join the Hunter Association and try to make at least a small difference in her part of the world. The hard part was getting her hands on a smartphone- new ones haven't been made in at least 25 years. They were very hard to find- the most common way to acquire one nowadays was to have one passed down to you or fetching it off a dead Hunter's corpse!
There were other electronic devices capable of running the Demon Summoning Program, of course, but none were as portable and convenient as smartphones. Tablets were close, but proved to be a bit on the bulky side. At least it was easy enough to arm herself. Hitomi managed to acquire a katana and machine pistol- ersatz, of course.

She risked life and limb and decided to venture out into the dangerous streets above, sneaking about, following Hunter crews as they went about their business. She would hide when things got rough, coming out once things calmed down enough for her to start scavenging around in hopes of finding a device capable of allowing her to properly do a Hunter's job. One day it all went horrifically wrong as she ran head-first into a particularly hungry demon. Unable to speak to the creature, Hitomi had no choice but to flee from the creature! She took a few hits in the process, including a rather lethal one to her midsection as the demon clawed after her and unleashed fiery bolts of magic at her. Slowly dying, she fell into the basement under a decrepit apartment store, finding temporary relief from the demon. With the basement's heavy doors shut, she could at least hope to die before the demon got to her. It was by sheer luck that she happened upon the skeletal remains of a soldier from the initial invasion, 25 years past! His DEMONICA armor was far too damaged to be of any use, but the gauntlet seemed to be in working order. Dragging herself to the corpse's side, she grabbed the gauntlet, slipped it on, and booted it up. Burroughs, the AI inside the gauntlet, registered her as her new owner and gave Hitomi a quick run-down of how to operate the Demon Summoning Program. As expected, the gauntlet had a small roster of demons stored in it!

Wasting no time, she called all of them out- they were surprised about the change of owner, but were nonetheless eager to assist (not that they had any other choice!). One of them, a Pixie, immediately went to work and mended her wounds. While she no longer risked certain death, Hitomi was still weak from blood-loss. The demon burst into the basement and was soundly defeated by Hitomi's newfound allies. Hurt but alive, Hitomi triumphantly went back to Shinjuku station. She retreated to her room and got to work on restoring the gauntlet as best as she could, cleaning it up and jury-rigging herself a pair of goggles wired to the device, so she could make some use of the device without having to look down at it. Once she fully recovered, Hitomi registered herself with the Hunters' Association and set out to make a name for herself.

RP Ideas:
1. Encounter with a member of the Ring of Gaea: These guys value strength above all else. If she would ever run into one of these Hunters before acquiring her gauntlet, they would merely see her as prey. The more benevolent members of the Ring would attempt to recruit her to their cause if he/she sees any potential in the girl. At worst, the teenager would be seen as a plaything.

2. Rivalry with another Hunter: The Hunters' Association ranks its Hunters based off their overall contributions to the survival effort at large. Hunters are bound to butt heads and develop rivalries as they try to claim the #1 spot. Could be a friendly one. Could be a hostile one.

3. Raped by demons: ...Pretty self-explanatory. :3

(Note, this can take place in the modern Devil Summoner Era, or back in the Raidou Kuzunoha 1920's. What follows is her Modern self.)

Hitomi is a Hacker and Devil Summoner. Because society hasn't collapsed in the wake of a nuclear apocalypse brought on by a demonic invasion, she is also a high school student! Hitomi got her start in demon summoning when she came across a peculiar-looking gauntlet and goggles at a junkyard one day while going out hunting for spare parts. Excited she may have found some sort of cutting-edge mobile hacking device, she took the device home and carefully restored it, also refitting it in order to make it wearable for her size. She turned it on and was soon introduced to the Demon Summoning Program. She couldn't really make heads or tails of it- Hitomi was not sure if what she was looking at was even real! Navigating through the software wasn't particularly hard, and quickly saw a list of "Demons" taking up the device's memory banks. She was given the option to "Summon", but she required something called "Magnetite", which the device was read as having none of.

Seeking answers, she took the quirky device to her favorite computer hardware shop in the city- a small, independently-run place. Imagine her surprise when the clerk immediately recognized what she had, hit a button, and swapped out his entire inventory right before her eyes. He explained that he dealt in COMP parts for the city's devil summoners, so long as they didn't bring their fights into his store. Not having a damn clue what he was talking about, Hitomi pressed on, eager to learn about what exactly she got herself into. She learned that demons were in fact VERY real, and humanity has worked tirelessly to keep them in line for centuries, if not millennia. While there were established organizations like the Kuzunoha Clan doing most of the work, there were plenty of independent summoners out there. Of course, she was warned, that there were many unsavory elements out there exploiting demons to suit their own purposes. The Yakuza, for instance, is notorious for having devil summoners in its ranks.

Hitomi acquired enough Magnetite from the dealer to get her started. Magnetite, as it turns out, Magnetite, or MAG, is a mystical substance that demons use to form their physical bodies when in the human realm. She took it upon herself to learn as much as she could about this secret world that's always existed right under her nose. As dangerous as it was, it was also very exciting. Hitomi is unsure yet as to what role she will play in the devil summoning world- for now, she is currently taking up the role of the scholar, taking a more passive approach to the daily-goings on of devil summoner society. At some point she may take a more active role, taking note that Devil Summoners are very high-risk, high-reward. They make a LOT of money. They're VERY much in demand. Aspiring to be one professionally is something she could always look forward to if feeling particularly daring.

Of course, she could easily find herself in for a very rude awakening.
