[collapse=⊹ Bᴀᴄᴋɢʀᴏᴜɴᴅ][small]Itachi was the first child born to Mikoto and Fugaku Uchiha. Her early childhood was marked with violence: when she was four years old, the Third Shinobi World War broke out and she witnessed firsthand many of the war's casualties. The death and destruction she experienced at such a young age traumatised Itashi and made her a pacifist. Furthermore, meeting Orochimaru, who viewed life without eternity as meaningless, also made Itashi greatly consider how to carry out her life. She became somewhat anti-social, focusing more on her training than enjoying her childhood. At the same time, she developed kinship with crows. At age 5, Itashi met Shisui. With their similar views, the two quickly became best friends and formed a sibling-like bond, training together and teaching each other new skills. During the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha, she was responsible for looking after her infant brother, Sasuke, and with her parents occupied, evacuated with her brother and Izumi Uchiha, to the south-east shelter. The Nine-Tails' attack had soured relations between Konoha's leadership and the Uchiha, the former believing the latter to be responsible. The Uchiha were relocated to a corner of the village, isolating them from the rest of the village and making it easier to monitor them.

Though peace-loving, Itashi was a natural prodigy in the shinobi arts, praised as the best of her generation. She would consistently score the highest in each subject and quickly learn any skill taught to her, even teaching herself jōnin-level techniques. Ultimately, she became very popular amongst her peers. She began to study history, not just of her clan or her village but of the world, and by doing so she gained a broader appreciation of what was important. Learning so much enabled her to understand how events of the past came to happen and, when she applied that same understanding into the future, she became concerned for where things were going. With her talents soon being recognized, at age 7, Itashi graduated from the Academy at the top of her class in a single year. In the anime, she subsequently joins Team 2. Being considered a elite genin team, they were tasked with guarding the Fire Daimyō during his annual visit to Konoha. During the mission, the convoy was attacked by a masked individual, who killed Tenma Izumo before Itashi, which caused her to awaken her Sharingan. At age 8, she mastered the dōjutsu, and at age 10, she passed the Chūnin Exams.

At age 11, She entered the Anbu. Itashi's accomplishments were a source of great pride for her family, her father viewing her as proof of the Uchiha's future prosperity and her brother viewing her as a model to live up to. Itashi spent a great deal of time with Sasuke, training with him (though rarely actually training him) and giving him the recognition their father did not. However, for all the attention she received, few truly understood Itashi, believing her isolation to be a result of the gap between her abilities and theirs and not her dissatisfaction with the shinobi's life of conflict. Eventually, the Uchiha's disdain for their unfair treatment lead them to plan a coup d'état. Fugaku, head of the Uchiha and the coup's chief conspirator, encouraged Itashi's advancement into the Anbu's ranks as a means of spying on the village. Itashi, however, knew an Uchiha coup would lead to intervention from other villages and ultimately start another World War, something she could not support. She instead became a double agent, reporting the Uchiha's actions to the Third Hokage and the Konoha Council in the hopes it would help them find a peaceful resolution.

Itashi shared the burden of betraying her clan with Shisui. But as time went on it became increasingly clear that peace could not be achieved. Shisui intended to use his Kotoamatsukami on the Uchiha's leaders to compel them to negotiate, but his right eye was stolen by Danzō Shimura before he had a chance. His own options exhausted, Shisui entrusted his remaining eye to Itashi and begged her to protect the village and their family name before drowning himself in the Naka River. Itashi was anguished by Shisui's death, enough to awaken her Mangekyō Sharingan. When the following day some Uchiha, already suspicious of Itashi, accused her of murdering Shisui and staging a suicide, Itashi lost her composure and attacked them, defeating them easily. A rift was created between Itashi and her family, and her warnings to them to reconsider what they were doing fell on deaf ears. By age 13, she was promoted to Anbu captain.

Although the Third Hokage still wished to negotiate with the Uchiha, Danzō Shimura recognised that there was no longer an outcome that could see the Uchiha clan's survival. He explained this to Itashi and left her a choice: support the Uchiha's coup and have the whole clan, including Sasuke, killed in the ensuing conflict, or accept the assignment to wipe out the clan before the coup started and be allowed to spare Sasuke. Itashi chose her brother. While making final preparations, Itashi discovered a masked man sneaking around Konoha. From observing him, she came to believe the man was truly Madara Uchiha bent on provoking some new conflict. Itashi approached him with an offer: she would assist "Madara" with wiping out the Uchiha, taking vengeance against them for abandoning him decades earlier, if Madara would spare the village, to which he agreed.

In one night Itashi and Tobi slaughtered the entire clan. Itashi took it upon herself to personally execute her parents. Despite her betrayal, they bore him no ill-will, instead telling her in the moments before they were killed that they were proud of her and requesting that she take care of Sasuke. Racked by grief for her actions, Itashi saw in Sasuke the only person suitable to punish her for her crimes. In order to set Sasuke on this road she cast herself as the villain, done by allowing Sasuke to find her standing over their parents' bodies and using Tsukuyomi to torment him with visions of their murders. Sasuke fled, fearing his own death, but Itashi chased him down to divulge the lie she had concocted: she killed their family to test her mettle and now wanted to test herself against the only remaining challenge to her, the little brother she'd never loved. She encouraged Sasuke to become strong enough to kill her and take revenge, and to that end suggested he acquire a Mangekyō Sharingan of his own. Itashi left, but was surprised to find Sasuke already pursuing her with a newly-awakened Sharingan. Sasuke's attempt at vengeance failed and he passed out, but not before seeing Itashi cry with remorse.

Afterwards, she disguised a crow clone as a member of Root to threaten Danzō she would leak Konoha's secrets to enemy villages if he touched Sasuke, having realised Danzō could not be trusted to keep his promises. For her final business in the village, Itashi visited the Third Hokage and reported her mission completed, much to the Third's surprise and disappointment. Itashi requested that the Third look after Sasuke, which the Third vowed to do. Itashi left the village publicly a traitor but secretly with a new mission: to infiltrate Tobi's organisation, Akatsuki, and keep it from moving against Konoha. She was partnered with Kisame Hoshigaki, with whom she bonded over their shared notoriety for killing their own countrymen. At some point after joining Akatsuki, Orochimaru tried to steal Itashi's body in order to gain the Sharingan, but Itashi easily deflected him and severed his left hand, forcing him to leave the organisation. To find a replacement for Orochimaru, Itashi helped recruit Deidara, whose art she defeated with her Sharingan's genjutsu; Deidara would forever after swear vengeance for the humiliating defeat.

Itashi at some point contracted a terminal illness. She kept herself alive through the years with medicine and sheer willpower so that she could live long enough to die by Sasuke's hand.[/small][/collapse][collapse=⊹ Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ][small]From a young age, Itashi was quiet and insightful. She lived at a distance, observing individuals and ideas without getting directly involved so that she could fully understand them. Although this approach prevented her from becoming close with many people, it enabled her to think and act without prejudice or preconceptions, instead evaluating things strictly on their own merits. She would think about shinobi and origins of the village and its future. For this reason she never had the self-righteous loyalty to her clan that was so common among the Uchiha; though she loved his family and wanted the best for them, she knew there were more important things than the Uchiha's aspirations.

Despite being a pacifist by nature, Itashi felt her own needs were secondary to the greater good's; to that end she became a kunoichi. She trained tirelessly to improve herself as quickly as she could and subjected herself to all of the kunoichi life's inconveniences without complaint for the simple motivation of being useful to others. Being so accomplished as a ninja enabled Itashi to approach problems less violently than others would, satisfying her peace-loving nature. These two extremes of her personality came into conflict as events moved toward the Uchiha Clan Downfall; she did not want to harm her family and sought a peaceful resolution, but knew that the path with the least bloodshed would be the clan's extermination. As the inevitability of the massacre became more apparent, Itashi's normally polite attitude to her clansmen became more violent, criticising them openly and lashing out at them for the choices that sealed their fates and her own.

Despite the traumas she endured from killing her own family, Itashi did not blame those among Konoha's leadership who gave her the mission; though she did not trust Danzō Shimura on a personal level, she knew Danzō only had the village's best interests at heart. But Itashi – partly out of the necessity of her assignment to join Akatsuki – was greatly changed after the massacre, rarely if ever showing emotion. She became more prone to displays of force and permitted certain violent habits of her partner, Kisame Hoshigaki, under the pretence that it furthered Akatsuki's goals. Itashi could not and would not fully shake her pacifist ways, and would run from confrontation or rein in Kisame if the likelihood of collateral damage became too high for themselves or others. While Kisame would sometimes protest, he considered Itashi a good friend and would listen to her instructions.

Konoha's protection was always forefront in Itashi's mind, but it was her dedication to her brother, Sasuke, that took priority in every situation. From the time of Sasuke's infancy, Itashi tasked herself with looking after him. They'd spend whole days together in the woods around Konoha having adventures and accomplishing self-appointed missions. When Itashi began to become an accomplished ninja and took much of their father's attention, Itashi would make special time to fill their father's shoes for Sasuke's benefit, at times even refusing her father's wishes in order to make Sasuke happy. Sasuke, wishing to be just like her older sister, would often ask Itashi to train him in the ninja arts. Itashi would almost never do so, poking his forehead and promising to train him some other time.

It was Sasuke's safety that ultimately convinced Itashi to go through with killing the rest of the Uchiha, believing her own damnation was worth it if it ensured Sasuke's survival. Even though she did it for Sasuke, Itashi wanted to be punished for her crimes and selected Sasuke as the one to take vengeance against her. To push Sasuke in this direction, Itashi withheld the true reason for her actions and instead took on the persona of a woman who had no love for her younger brother. Per the persona, Itashi cared about Sasuke only because of the eyes that she could take to gain Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Her actions in Akatsuki were meant to reinforce this persona, and whenever she met Sasuke over the years she would taunt his weakness and encourage him to get strong enough to kill her. Her plan was that, once she had been killed, Sasuke would be hailed as a hero. Itashi never wanted Sasuke to learn the truth surrounding the Uchiha's massacre, and if he did she hoped the memory of a hateful older sister would cause him to not believe it.

After she died and was reincarnated, Itashi discovers that her plans largely failed; Sasuke is not a hero and he did find out the truth about what Itashi did. Naruto Uzumaki points out to Itashi the flaw in her plans: she had been trying to manipulate Sasuke rather than be honest with him and trust in his own strength. Acknowledging the mistake, Itashi is free to be herself instead of the persona she fabricated, being openly kind to others and displaying a dry sense of humour even in stressful situations. She is finally open with Sasuke when they meet again, admitting what she did and even sharing information Sasuke did not already know. She apologises to Sasuke for failing in her responsibilities as an older sister, wondering if being up front with Sasuke from the beginning might have allowed them to avoid the Uchiha's destruction. In their final moments together, Itashi tells Sasuke she does not need forgiveness and that she will always love him no matter what.[/small][/collapse][collapse=⊹ Aᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ][small]Itashi had onyx eyes under which were long, pronounced tear-troughs. She had jet-black hair that was pulled back in a low ponytail and her face was framed with centre-parted bangs that extended to her chin; the ponytail and bangs grew longer over the years. Her overall appearance is very similar to Sasuke's. Even more, like her brother, she was considered very beautiful as many girls and boys became infatuated with her. When she lived in Konoha, her casual clothes consisted of a black shirt with the Uchiha clan symbol on the back, bandages around her ankles, and black sandals. She wore tan pants with a weapons pouch strapped to her back. When on duty, she would wear the standard Anbu uniform complete with arm guards, a flak jacket, and a porcelain mask which was fashioned to resemble a weasel with a red, triangular marking on top.

As a member of Akatsuki, she wore the standard Akatsuki cloak and a slashed Konoha forehead protector to symbolise her broken ties with the village. The cloak's high collar would obscure her ponytail. She would sometimes unbutton her cloak to mid-chest and rest her left arm there, rather than in the sleeve. Under her cloak she wore clothes similar to the rest of Akatsuki: mesh armour with navy accents under an identical T-shirt with a simple white belt around the waist and dark blue pants. On her right ring finger was her Akatsuki ring, which was red and bore the kanji for "vermilion" (朱, shu). She wore purple nail polish on her fingers and toes and a necklace that had three silver rings with red gems inside them.[/small][/collapse][collapse=⊹ Aʙɪʟɪᴛɪᴇs][eicon]FireRelease[/eicon][eicon]windRelease[/eicon][eicon]waterRelease[/eicon][eicon]yinRelease[/eicon][eicon]yangRelease[/eicon]

[eicon]itasharingan[/eicon]

[small]Even within the Uchiha clan, Itashi was a ninja of prodigious talent, consistently showing intellect and performance well-beyond her years and rose rapidly through the ninja ranks. She was highly proficient in all three main ninja skill sets, able to learn seemingly any technique shown to her effortlessly and gained praise from allies and foes alike. Orochimaru, one of the Sannin, openly admitted Itashi was stronger than he was. Sasuke, despite improving his abilities over the time-skip, could not truly defeat Itashi, who instead succumbed to her terminal illness. A pacifist at heart, Itashi did not actually like fighting and would avoid it when she could. When she couldn't, she would end the fight as quickly as possible, all the while holding herself back. Even when restrained in this way, multiple jōnin were still pushed to their limits against Itashi.

Chakra and Physical Prowess

As an Uchiha, Itashi's chakra was naturally strong, but her actual reserves became very low, exacerbated from her terminal illness. This prevented her from participating in prolonged battles and limited her use of Mangekyō Sharingan techniques to three times a day before she needed significant rest, at which point even her Sharingan deactivated. Compensating for this limitation somewhat, Itashi had very refined chakra control, able to perform her techniques with one-handed seals.

Although rarely involving herself in such combat, Itashi was very skilled with taijutsu – enough to easily defeat three members of the Konoha Military Police Force. She had impressive speed and reflexes, particularly with her hand movements. This extended to both throwing weapons and hand seals, making it appear as if he could perform her techniques without seals; even skilled Sharingan users had difficulty keeping track of her. Her speed allowed her to attack first in a battle, then immediately move to the location her opponent retreated to before they even realized she was gone, giving them no chance to initiate a counter-attack.

Genjutsu

Consistent with her pacifist nature, Itashi specialised in genjutsu typically performed with her Sharingan. Her illusions, which often involved crows, could be initiated after only the briefest moment of eye contact, and even targets that knew to expect genjutsu might not immediately realise that they'd fallen prey to her. Even avoiding eye contact with her didn't guarantee safety, as she could cast genjutsu by merely pointing at someone. In addition to basic illusions, Itashi could use genjutsu to share information or psychologically disable opponents, allowing her to end fights before they even began. According to Ao, she was the only person who could use her genjutsu to take control of other individuals outside the range of even the Sensor Division. If she ever came up against other genjutsu users, she could turn their genjutsu against them.

Ninjutsu

Itashi could summon crows, which she would typically call forth in flocks to swarm opponents and distract them. She even integrated crows into clones of herself that would draw opponents' attacks. She was likewise able to create shadow clones that could lure in opponents before exploding. In addition to crows and clones, Itashi was practised with fūinjutsu, particularly those that would activate upon seeing specific people's Sharingan.

Nature Transformation

As an Uchiha, Itashi had a natural affinity for Fire Release, mastering the clan's Great Fireball Technique at a very young age. She would often coat shuriken with fire to increase their offensive capacities. She was also a skilled Water Release user, able to perform the Water Dragon Bullet Technique without an already existing water source. Her other chakra natures included Wind Release, Yin Release, and Yang Release.

Bukijutsu

As a fully-trained Konoha Anbu, Itashi was skilled with a sword, which was her primary weapon during the Uchiha Clan Downfall. Her comfort area as an Uchiha, though, was shurikenjutsu. Even in her early childhood, Itashi could perfectly hit an intricate set of eight targets, one of which was hidden in a blind-spot, by accurately deflecting two kunai off two other kunai in such a way that every kunai hit a target. Her throwing speed was unprecedented, enough to keep up with and therefore negate the advantages of the Summoning: Lightning Flash Blade Creation. She was as equally comfortable with kunai, and at times used kunai like swords against opponents that wielded actual swords.

Dōjutsu

Sharingan

Itashi awakened and mastered the Sharingan by the age of eight, demonstrating skill and power superior to most members of her clan. She keeps her Sharingan active near-constantly with minimal drain on her chakra levels. The Sharingan allowed her to see chakra and predict movements, as well as facilitate her use of genjutsu. With the Sharingan she could perform Izanami, a counterpart to the more dangerous Izanagi.

Mangekyō Sharingan

Itashi awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan after the suicide of Shisui Uchiha. Its design was three spiralling curves around the pupil. With his left eye, she could use Tsukuyomi, a genjutsu that trapped opponents' minds in an illusory world, torturing them for what seemed like days in a matter of seconds. With her right eye she could use Amaterasu, which ignited whatever she looked at with black flames that would burn anything, including fire itself. She had the ability to extinguish Amaterasu, but never displayed the sort of shape transformation that Sasuke later would.

Having unlocked the abilities of both her Mangekyō, Itashi could use Susanoo. With its simplest manifestations she could produce extra arms or bones to improve her options in a fight. When used in full, Itashi was surrounded by a spectral warrior that would protect her from all damage, even jutsu as powerful as Kirin. In addition to the chakra swords and Yasaka Magatama common to all Susanoo, Itashi's Susanoo wielded the Sword of Totsuka – an ethereal sword with the ability to seal any person it pierced into its gourd—hilt – and the Yata Mirror – a shield that was said to reflect any attack by changing its chakra nature to counterbalance an attack. The simultaneous use of both weapons made Itashi's Susanoo essentially invincible.

Itashi was not immune to the Mangekyō Sharingan's side-effects: each of the Mangekyō's techniques required vast amounts of chakra to perform and left her so fatigued afterwards that she had to deactivate her Sharingan altogether. Every time she used her Mangekyō Sharingan, her eyesight deteriorated, a process that would progressively worsen on each occasion. Early uses of the Mangekyō would only cause her eyes to bleed, but by the end of her life she reached the point where she was nearly blind, most things looking to her like mere blurs. She does not suffer these shortcomings after her reincarnation and can use all her Mangekyō techniques without problems.

Intelligence

Itashi was a highly intelligent individual. Next to Minato Namikaze, Itashi had the highest scores in the history of the Academy. She was solemn and observant; she thought very quickly and remained calm in a fight, enabling her to respond with maximum efficiency and with the smallest likelihood of misjudging circumstances. If an opponent exceeded her expectations or posed a legitimate challenge to her or her allies, Itashi would freely admit it. Even at a young age, her studies of history gave her remarkable foresight and a cost-benefit understanding on par with the Hokage; she took several precautions for Sasuke and against Tobi that she planned would activate after her death. Even Tobi admitted if he didn't keep some secrets from Itashi, he might have been killed by Itashi's trap.

Legacy

By her own design, Itashi had a profound influence on Sasuke's life. Her instructions on the night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall for Sasuke to gain power at any cost caused Sasuke to isolate himself from other people and avoid companionship. When he realised that he was getting attached to the members of Team 7 and, from his perspective, failing to get stronger because of them, he defected from Konoha and left to train under Orochimaru, propelling him along the path towards Itashi's death. Following the siblings' battle, Itashi's plans start to fail due to the interference of Tobi: Tobi refocuses Sasuke's hatred that Itashi had engineered for herself to be used against Konoha, turning Sasuke into a criminal against Itashi's intentions. Itashi is able to make amends with Sasuke upon her reincarnation, wiping his prejudices clean and allowing him to start deciding things for himself.

Upon learning the entire truth about Itashi, Sasuke reverts to the great admiration he had for her when they were children and follows in his sister's footsteps. He does not want to see Konoha, the village Itashi sacrificed so much for, destroyed and therefore works against Tobi and Madara to end the Fourth Shinobi World War. He also sees the reason in Itashi's decision to make difficult choices and be hated for them, and for that reason gives himself the task after the war is concluded to become the world's darkness, using his power to force peace and unapologetically kill any that threaten it. Though this is again a great divergence from Itashi's plans, another of Itashi's plans redeems him: Naruto, at Itashi's insistence, eventually convinces Sasuke of the errors he has made without killing him after their final battle. In the war's aftermath, Sasuke adopts Itashi's habit of poking others' foreheads as a sign of affection, in particular his wife, Sakura Haruno, and their daughter, Sarada. He also had a habit of neglecting his daughter in favour of his duties of protecting the village and her, although he realises this mistake later on and chose to spend time with his family before continuing his mission. Sasuke would continue to protect the village for many years to come — ultimately causing Itashi's wishes for her brother to finally be realised.

Itashi's influence would extend beyond Sasuke: Danzō Shimura, despite his difference of opinions with Itashi, believed her an unsung hero of Konoha who worked selflessly for the village's good; the five Kage, despite not knowing about Itashi's involvement, hailed her as the world's saviour for ending the Impure World Reincarnation; Kabuto Yakushi remembered who he truly was as a result of Itashi's Izanami and, inspired by her, resuscitated Sasuke when he was on the verge of death. Years after the Fourth Shinobi World War, a man named Shin becomes so fixated on Itashi that he tries to kill Sasuke in order to avenge Itashi's "murder".

In the anime, Hiruzen realised kind-hearted people should never be in the Anbu because of the nature of their missions. After the Uchiha Clan Downfall, Hiruzen was determined not to do the same with Kakashi and chose to retire him as an Anbu and made him commandeer a team of genin in hopes it would help restore his light and kindness and eliminate his darkness. Also, in the final moments of her reincarnation, Itashi used her Sharingan to transfer to Sasuke all her memories, knowledge, and personal feelings to let her dear brother understand why she chose the path she took.[/small][/collapse][collapse=⊹ Hᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴs][small]PERSONALITY:

❣️ Itashi is quite conservative. She tends to get flustered in situations that are considered less than appropriate, but this side is only evident to those she’s comfortable enough to be herself with

❣️ While she usually looks for a compromise, Itashi can be quite stubborn on certain matters, especially matters pertaining to the well-being of her loved ones

❣️ She addresses just about every single person she first meets with an honorific. It’s only when asked or when the relationship shared is very close that she’ll discard the honorific

❣️ She prioritizes the happiness and well-being of everyone, above her own

❣️ She is a very private person, so becoming her friend will be an extremely gradual process. Read, extremely

❣️ Though generally a very mature individual, Itashi does have her moments of playfulness; these occurrences are extremely rare and even when they do occur, they’re very minute and shown to those she is comfortable with

❣️ Itashi is a very patient person. It takes a lot to make her lose her temper. The one thing that will surely raise her temper, however, is if the person she cares about disregards his/her safety

❣️ Itashi doesn’t hate anyone, she hates the certain things that people do

❣️ She has a tendency to apologize, even if it isn’t her fault

❣️ An extremely caring person, Itashi feels that she ought to protect just about everyone around her

❣️ Itashi does not see anything in plain black and white. She believes that nothing is clear cut and always manages to see the shades of grey in between. Therefore, she always puts things through a lot of heavy consideration

❣️ Despite how adept she is at reading others, due to her own self-hatred and caution towards others, Itashi can be rather oblivious/dense when it comes to romance or when someone genuinely wishes to befriend her. She does not believe that anyone could like her in such a sense

❣️ Because of her high intellect, Itashi can sometimes (… or a lot of the time) think that her way may be the only way. This does not, of course, mean that she isn’t open to discussion! Just be sure to present her with a good argument

❣️ Itashi is a perfectionist

❣️ Though she still is a gentle soul, years of donning a facade of indifference and at times, coldness, has rendered Itashi unused to displaying affection. Should she get close to anyone, it would take time - note, a lot of time - for her to warm up to the other

❣️ Because her own life is rife with many trials, it only steels Itashi’s resolution even more so to protect and wish for those around her to lead a happy life

❣️ Itashi’s facade is as much a part of herself as her own personality. Even if all of her issues are one day resolved, it is highly unlikely that she would shed its cloak, at least not completely. A lot of development would be needed in order for her to reach that point

❣️ Even though she is a pacifist, it is because of her kindness that Itashi decided to take up the task of becoming a shinobi. There is nothing more that she would like to see than peace, and would contribute however she can for it to come true

❣️ Internally, Itashi is deeply affected by what she had done in order to maintain peace in her village, and is constantly haunted by this. Even though she knows it was necessary, she harbours a lot of self-hate and guilt for what she’d done. As a result, she has an aversion to speaking of her late family

❣️ Though quite open-minded, the values that Itashi holds lean more to the traditional

❣️ Itashi prefers keeping a low profile. She’s not too fond of drawing attention to herself

❣️ Already isolated for her genius, the many years of being unable to share her real self with anyone after the tragedy that is the Uchiha massacre has resulted in loneliness being instilled in the long-haired Uchiha. Because of this, Itashi finds it easier to connect with those who are lonely as well, given the facade that she’s forced to don. As with most cases, it is the only form of connection that Itashi can find in others

❣️ While she is indeed a good shinobi, due to her gentility, it may not exactly be the best career path for her. It is an occupation that would eat away at her conscience, her health, and so forth

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY:

❣️ The necklace that she constantly wears is a present from her parents, given to her as a congratulatory gift for being promoted to an ANBU captain- although there is another (and perhaps one could say real) reason that it was given to her. Having an underlying feeling that this may very well be one of their last few acts as her parents, they gave her the necklace to remember them by. The accessory was chosen by Sasuke (when their parents asked him in an offhand manner which he preferred), though the boy hadn’t the faintest idea at the time it was meant for Itashi, nor does he know now (this part of the headcanon may be subject to change). The three ringlets are meant to represent Fugaku, Mikoto and Sasuke; the precious people in Itashi’s family. Feeling that she would not be able to bear going through with her mission if she were to wear it, it was only after the massacre that Itashi chose to allow it to adorn her neck. She has never been one for jewellery, but this necklace is precious to her, as it is all that she has left from her family. It also acts as an anchor to remind her of who she is; the daughter of Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Mikoto, and elder sister of Uchiha Sasuke. It helps her during moments when she has trouble remembering who she is

❣️ The majority of his childhood was spent exploring and training

❣️ Her habit of poking Sasuke on the forehead is something she picked up from her mother, Mikoto

❣️ Since she was a child, Itashi’s always had a bit of a delicate health. It was not uncommon for her to get the flu/cold/fevers/etc every now and then

❣️ As a child, Itashi was a rather curious, quiet, gentle and thoughtful little thing. She never did like seeing an unhappy face

❣️ Most of her life while she was in Konoha was spent performing numerous missions (by the time she was 13 years of age, she’d completed far more missions than anyone in the Konoha 11 ever did by the time they were 15-17) and therefore, she did not create many strong ties with the villagers of Konoha

❣️ Growing up, the person she’d spent the most time with was Mikoto. This is due to the Shinobi War at the time; it was likely that Fugaku had to be away quite often in order to support Konoha in the war

❣️ The most pivotal event that pushed Itashi into the direction of taking up the career of a shinobi (instead of say, a medical-nin, which would appear to be a more suitable occupation for someone who is a pacifist), was when she bore witness to a battlefield strewn with dead shinobi. It is this event that would later fuel Itashi’s desire to protect everyone as a capable shinobi. While Itashi does indeed hold the field of healing in high regard, her primary concern is to stop the spilling of blood in the first place.

LOVE AND RELATIONSHIPS:

❣️ She would do just about anything for Sasuke (within reason, of course), and loves him unconditionally

❣️ Along with seeing him as her best friend, Itashi sees Shisui as she would a brother

❣️ Itashi is bisexual with a very strong feminine lean

❣️ Whether such a relationship comes to be, however, is reliant on the other party, as Itashi is highly unlikely to consider such a notion on her own, and is- of course, very likely to reject initial advances

❣️ With the amount of things she has to deal with, Sasuke being her main concern, romance isn’t a priority of her, and if she does fall in love, it will take awhile for her to develop those feelings, if ever

❣️ As a romantic partner, Itashi would be extremely loyal. She would not enter a relationship unless she is certain she would be committed to it. Her emotions would have to be extremely strong for her to even consider such a notion. Chances are, once she chooses someone to be her partner, she will stay with that one person till the very end

❣️ When it comes to sex, Itashi would only commit the act with someone she is truly in love with. This is the person she sees herself having a future with, a person she wishes to share half of her life with. She does not believe it is a subject that ought to be treated lightly, at least for herself; the reasoning for this is that she does not wish to toy with another’s emotions simply for pleasure. Again, Itashi is a gentle person. She does not wish to hurt anyone if needn’t be

❣️ If she were to ever become a wife and a mother, she would be a loving one. She’d love her partner and children deeply

LIKES AND DISLIKES:

❣️ Itashi has a fondness for cats. Especially Siamese cats.

❣️ Her most preferred type of tea is Sencha

❣️ Itashi likes to learn, and has a tendency to show her curiosity whenever something interests her

❣️ Other than visiting traditional Japanese cafes, Itashi’s hobbies include reading and cooking, the latter stemming from having to take care of her younger brother since she was but a child, and it only grew after her defection from the village, where she had to take care of herself completely. She does indulge in calligraphy from time to time, but only as a way to simply pass the time

❣️ She enjoys staying indoors, but does like taking walks from time to time

❣️ She is rather fond of sweets, but does not indulge in it very often. She keeps his diet healthy and only eats it every now and then

❣️ In terms of colour, she prefers dark and muted ones. She normally favours black, and occasionally, grey

❣️ As odd as it may sound, Itashi has both an attachment and slight aversion to the colour red. Attachment, because it is a part of the Uchiha clan symbol. Aversion, because it reminds her of the blood spilled during the Third Shinobi War and of course, the Uchiha clan massacre. That being said, however, it is at the end of day a mere colour; it will not affect her overly so if at all. At the very most, she would momentarily avert his gaze

❣️ While her Sharingan can make learning much easier for Itashi, she far prefers learning everything on her own. Even if she can manage extremely well without her bloodline, having a bit of a challenge is certainly something

❣️ Itashi is not that fond of seeing her reflection, as the resemblance that she bears of her parents reminds her of them

❣️ She prefers not to resort to using animal summons in battle, as she does not relish the prospect of them getting injured on her account. She uses them (crows) primarily for communication, a form of distraction in battle and for espionage

❣️ Itashi has an appreciation for the beauty that nature has to offer. She finds it relaxing

❣️ As for literature, Itashi has a liking for a wide range of genre, though she has more of an inclination for philosophy, history, politics, and the classics. On the same note, Itashi also has a quiet appreciation for darker genres, but only if they are done tastefully and with depth rather than for senseless gore/violence/etc

❣️ If there is anything that Itashi regards as truly beautiful, it is peace. Serenity, the sight of smiling faces and people carrying on with their daily lives knowing that they are safe— that, is beauty to her

❣️ Itashi has a love-hate relationship with her ability to control people via Sharingan. She does not like to leave people without a choice as it reminds her of a time when she hadn’t one (ie: when she had been ordered to massacre her own clan), but at the same time, she knows that this is better than resorting to physical means of dealing with a situation. She would much rather use genjutsu than violence

MISCELLANEOUS:

❣️ He doesn’t have much of an aptitude for the creative arts. Since Itashi is a very closed off individual and since art is a form of expression, she has some difficulty in this area. She simply has no passion for it. Her constant depression too could be the reason for her creative block. That being said, she is able to draw rather accurate copies of those around her, but is unable to create her own art. Perhaps this would change should her depression be lifted

❣️ The only type of art she indulges in is calligraphy

❣️ Whenever she’s involved in a battle, she would try to incapacitate her opponent at the very most if possible. Even if it means dealing with the consequences of overusing the Sharingan, she would rather use that than end her opponent’s life then and there with a different method. She does, however, understand that there are difficult decisions that one must make and will go through with them if necessary

❣️ Due to the horrific experiences that she has gone through, Itashi suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and very severe depression.

❣️ Due to having to live in a hostile environment for years, Itashi is a very light sleeper

❣️ Itashi has a tendency to refer to experiences she’s had (be it his own or others’) when extending a piece of advice or a lesson

❣️ Whenever she is feeling particularly stressed, she immerses herself in work to take her mind off of things

❣️ Itashi’s disease: Itashi suffers from Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA), a rare disease that has no cure. It does, however, have treatment and thus, its symptoms can be managed.

❣️ Itashi can be quite forgetful when it comes to remembering certain dates (exp: anniversaries, for example). She usually needs to write the date down in order to remember

❣️ Because of her illness, she does not really take enjoyment in eating. Rather, she eats because she has to

❣️ As a former member of the ANBU, Itashi is knowledgeable of the human anatomy and knows how to use this to her advantage in battle. For example, she knows the exact points to hit in order to place her opponent into a death-like state or into unconsciousness[/small][/collapse][collapse=⊹ Rᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘs][icon]Pein[/icon] [small]-- There.. there is a lot of history between Nagato and I..
