Gallus is a Ynaran, aka a space elf of the same species as [icon]space elf tari[/icon]. That's where the similarities end. He is also a Laminian, a wholly different clan than Tari's. Like most Ynarnas, Laminians live in starship-based communities- in their case, they tend to prefer smaller, sleeker, stealthier vessels. Laminians are a bit of an odd bunch. First and foremost they're specialists for hire. They deal in infiltration, sabotage, assassination, and even security work (Bodyguards and the like). Their services don't come cheap- they're damned good at what they do! What sets them apart is the fact that they don't physically age past their teenage years. This is all due in part to an intensive regimen of drugs and supplements they take around that point in their lives to enhance their physical and mental capabilities. They boast significantly enhanced speed, reflexes, stamina, and muscle strength despite their stunted bodies. Laminians can rival olympic athletes and even minor cybernetics! As noted earlier, the downside is that their physical growth and development more or less stops. It's a very taxing process to their bodies, and as a result, they're generally shorter-lived than most Ynarans, boasting a lifespan somewhere in between an average member of their race's (two or so centuries) to that of a human's (Less than a century). That's of course, assuming a Laminian even lives that long given their line of work.

Due to looking so young and having generally smaller, more compact frames, they excel at infiltration and wetwork. Humans in the know have taken to calling them space ninjas, a moniker that many Laminians find rather endearing and amusing. They also make really good bodyguards- especially hidden ones. That little space elf maid over there? She's actually a deadly killing machine! Interesting to note is that most Laminians are female. Ynarans traditionally reproduce through artificial means- mixing parents' genes together, configuring them as needed, then growing the offspring in vats. As such, most Laminians end up being girls- both for aesthetics and practicality. Teenagers tend to be weedy and awkward- Ynarans in particular. Especially males. Thus, only a few per ship, per generation, end up being males- specifically for the purposes of breeding. Seeing as Ynarans in general abhor old-fashioned, natural procreation... This is not as exciting as it sounds, although males certainly get plenty of (safe!) action from their shipmates. Due to the nature of artificial breeding, Ynarans- Laminians in particular, don't really follow a rigid family structure. They generally acknowledge biological parentage, but all in all, each ship's crew is a family- all Laminians of a given ship consider themselves brothers and sisters, and other ships as cousins. The captain of the ship is typically the Big Sister (rarely, the Big Brother). Thus, they all share the surname of Laminia, adding in the first couple letters of their home ship as a prefix.

Gallus hails from the Nisshoku. Yes, it's a Japanese word. The original ship name still meant Eclipse in Gallus's native language. However, once coming into contact with Human civilization, especially after learning the bit about ninjas mentioned earlier in this profile... The Captain went for a little name change. As such, his surname is Ni-Laminia. He is 25 years old, yet does not look a day over fifteen or sixteen. He's also a bit of a manlet- Gallus is only five feet tall. He has light blue skin, fiery red hair, and an overall girlish figure (Something he hates). Some jobs require Gallus to resort to cross-dressing, especially if his Captain has anything to say about it. He's not a fan- too bad it's something the Captain takes great pleasure in putting him through as much as she possibly can! Gallus eventually got fed up, and left the ship in a rebellious fit, setting up shop on a frontier world on the edge of human civilization to try and live a relatively normal life- although he'll have to resort to his usual line of work from time to time to pay the bills. He'll also find that he'll have a hard time convincing humans to give him normal work due to the very nature of his being. Still, the freedom of living on his own is very refreshing, and he doesn't see himself crawling back to the Nisshoku anytime soon.
