Beholders aren't exactly the most family-like of monsters. Ignoring the fact that two gazers meeting, much less mating, is such a rare occurrence, at a young age they are self-sustaining, basically eliminating parenting roles. As such, gazers usually learn everything for themselves. This, combined with their overpowering abilities, at least in the [i]natural order[/i] of things, make them arrogant, territorial, and somewhat spiteful creatures. They have dozens of extra tentacle-like appendages built into their body for combat and perception, they posses the power of levitation, and have immense physic ability. Due to their physic ability, it has been rumored that beholders might posses a mind hundreds of times greater than that of human beings, or even other 'great creatures'. However, due to the general attitude of it's possessors, it seems that the potential of this mental ability is never realized...

Now, take this body and power and give it to a rather aggressive, somewhat angsty, and completely immature girl and what do you get? Something you'd probably rather not bump into late at night far away from home.

Despite her older age, the beholder's appearance and personality is less mature than one might imagine. It is unknown exactly how long a gazer's life expectancy is, with reports of beholders thousands of years old being found. Other than her long, singular eye and deep blue skin tone, one of the most noticeable points of Floaty's appearance are her tentacles. Functioning as eyes, extra limbs, and channels, her twelve tentacles have coil shapes and can extend to around the size of her body. They also have sharp bards at their 'heads' which the beholder can extend if she feels threatened.

Despite her youthful appearance, the Gazer is much older than she appears! Though, she is around what would be considered teenage in human years.[/collapse]
