Craig Benting is an opossum that has somehow managed to be a failure in life yet still attain the prestigious title of doctor (for a time). Depending on his mood Craig is either a paranoid eccentric or an outgoing doctor of "high status" and even higher tastes. In reality, Craig was a normal child born to a poor family and raised modestly. Everything about his life was normal, he achieved high grades, participated in the community, and occasionally enjoyed a cigarette. As time went on Craig was accepted into medical school and proceeded to become invested in his studies. After graduating, one project in particular stuck with him. During college he had become heavily obsessed with a theory known by his code name "longtail" which focused on allowing the body to react to physical trauma faster and more effectively. Theoretically, this would allow for increased lifespans and improved injury survival rates. This was all wrong however, project longtail resulted in horrific failure. The first test subject was disfigured beyond recognition by a buildup of skin cells rushing to replace dead ones. Public opinion of the once successful doctor plummeted into hatred, eventually costing him his medical license. Craig, ostracized and disgruntled, took up the life of a sawbones, working for numerous gangs and performing cheap plastic surgery. Currently he lives in a stolen trailer and rents a small shack for his business. During what little off time he gets he can be found listening to songs pertaining to Vietnam and rooting through trash. Although his existence is somewhat pathetic, he remains optimistic that one day he will regain his former glory (and possibly strangle that bitch of a professor).

After years of successful work performing cheap rhinoplasty, tummy-tucks, and face lifts, Craig returned his attention to the experimental procedure commonly known as artificial cell reconstruction. Thanks to his work, Craig himself possesses the ability to repair most soft tissue damage over a matter of minutes to hours. The procedure didn't make him invulnerable like he would have wanted. Instead the procedure just made him really hard to completely kill him instead of just putting him in a body cast. Later, as a gift from a friend, Craig received a bio-mechanical mantid arm as a replacement for his left arm. Aside from its hard texture and the ability to grow green keratin daggers, the arm is mostly unnoticeable.[/collapse]
