He served in the Heddegian Military fighting the Black Banner Army, and in the final battle against the leader of this terrorist force, he changed sides briefly to join the Black Banners for personal gains. He then usurped the leader's post and lead the Black Banners to greatness. He is a recipient of the Medal of Wounded Warriors, getting annoyed when people pull him away from his life to bug him about his ear wound. His greatest enemy is the Chaos Child, a conman of rare trading cards, and a former classmate that has nothing better to do than make fun of his people's traditional earrings, a mark of masculinity in his ethnic group.

As a hedgehog abomination created by Scientologist doctors years ago, he has the obsession with finding gems and going extremely fast. Despite being the fastest reasoning species alive, that is not enough for the hedgehogs, who love to create the fastest cars they can and race each other, yelling edgy obscenities at each other as they go. Coldsteel's particular sub species, the Purple field Hedgehog are radical Bannerists, Coldsteel joining the Government's forces and by extension the enemies of his people, the Blue furred Urban Hedgehogs, is quite unusual. It is theorized that he joined simply for sadistic reasons as guerrilla fighting gives little in hand to hand combat. He changed due to the realization that torture is more satisfying, and his special brass knuckles fitted with long spikes shows that off. Despite hating humans, he enjoys their music, his favorite bands being of the punk music genre, especially Nine Inch Nails for their innovative for their time sound. He likes to consider himself a ladies man, preferring human females with large breasts of loose character, but he secretly loves cock as well, despite denying that he is anything but straight. He is never happy in the normal sense, just snide smiles and pure pleasure instead of sane pleasure. Kevin Robinson, the military General from Earth is his former classmate, and harasses his planet whenever he can, threatening to expose his sexuality. His relation with his father is abysmal at best, because Coldsteel was never allowed to be edgy for he was edgier than his kinsmen.
