Clarissa is a typical ten year old girl. She loves animals, the color pink, and fantasy stories. She's naive and innocent, and even a touch gullible. The one thing that fascinates her most is magic. She wants to learn to use magic herself. While her wishlist is long, she'd be delighted to have even one supernatural ability of her own.

Clarissa's mother was a famous magical girl in her youth. One day Clarissa was attacked by a monster, prompting her mother to use her powers for the first time in years to save her. After that, her mother began mentoring young women gifted with powers of their own. Clarissa is envious of her mother and the magical girls, and jealous about the connection her mother is making with her students. She doesn't show much bitterness outwardly, but spends a lot of time sulking in her room alone. At times she even suspects that her mother is preventing her from gaining powers.
