[color=gray][indent][indent][justify]Bloodmages, as the name implies, use their own life force in order to cast their spells. Usually Bloodmages can steal the blood of others to keep their spell casting going, and when it comes to simple spells and rituals just a few drops of blood is usually enough. Charlotte's blood though is special, rejecting all foreign blood and holding far less power within it than other mages of her kind. The amount of blood one normally has to spill in order to cast a spell is multiplied by about 3 for Charlotte, and with no way to quickly replenish the amount of blood in her body she's been branded as an unfortunate reject by the other mages of her kind.[/justify] [/indent][/indent][/color]

[color=gray][indent][indent][justify]Seen as an outcast by her typical crowd, Charlotte was forced to find company with people from other schools of magic who would take some form of pity on her, even if they were considered "rogue" to put it lightly. Even in these groups though she's always been the odd one out and in more professional relationships she's rarely been little more than an apprentice as far as position is concerned. That's not to say she doesn't enjoy the fact that people are willing to help her, but even her "friends" stray awful close to being acquaintances most days as opposed to anything else.

Ever since childhood she's been looking for a solution to her defect, still researching even to this day even though progress has been slow. Charlotte is hot blooded and impulsive, and when things get in her way she'll pour her entire being into surmounting that obstacle. Curing an unknown defect isn't something that you can get through with sheer determination though, and while her quest for a cure does continue it's been put on the back burner. Just living day to day is rough for an outcast like her after all, even with all that headstrong self-confidence it's tough to find time for research. For years she's done a little bit of everything, doing her fair share of stuff she's not proud of. She much prefers honest work to crimes, but you have to do what you have to do some months. You can use your imagination to figure out why she chose Scarlet. If someone calls her by her real name, it's something of a surprise for her now and days since she hasn't really used it on years outside of government forms.[/justify] [/indent][/indent][/color]
