And a completely insatiable lover. Even his name warned all who hoped, for in the tongue of Ireland, Fergus translates almost directly to "virility." No wonder the Queen of Connacht couldn't resist taking him on as a bedfellow and leader in the Cattle Raid of Cooley.

Thus, it only makes sense for the soul of his blade would be a mirror of these qualities. A hero has no greater ally than his weapons, and the bond forged in battle is nigh unbreakable. Having someone you can trust with your life and then relieve the stress of battle with afterward is the greatest comfort in the world. Depending on what you mean by "comfort," obviously.

To backtrack for a moment, though,[/i] nigh [i]unbreakable does not mean completely unbreakable. His tragic death was almost inevitable for a king-in-exile. With her greatest compatriot and lover dead in the water in more ways than one, her whole existence was shattered. She's dedicated herself to finding a swordsman worthy of wielding her once more.[/i]
