Inside the walls and outside the walls, both sides that are equally dangerous for anyone who's not born with a single penny. The rich become richer and the poor become poorer, and there's no other place that show this wall between people better than this one. You can even pinpoint the exact location allowed for the poor to walk before being arrested, or the rich to walk before getting smuggled, but why would the latter abandon their glamorous life style when they have everything? Why should they help the poor who harvest their food, build their structures and even craft their weapons? War was something of a game for the higher ups, with the lives of peasants only counting when they affect the interests of the rich. With all this summed up, crime was to be expected and punishments were nothing to laugh about. One could even get publicly executed shall the victim decide to break the judge's hand. So when a boy was caught with a bag full of stolen apples by one of the passing knights, one did not require to be a seer or a fortune teller to know what was going to happen next. Knowing the grim future that awaited the kid, he swallowed his saliva as he awaited to be forced to pay the merchant with either one of his limbs. Yet a glimmer of hope lighted his irises for the first time in his life when the knight not only paid the apples for him, but also taught him of a place where he could get food and something closer to a bed than wood or hay. The face of the knight was not utterly beautiful like the angels, but for the rest of his life the boy would associate the word 'kindness' and 'happiness' with that rough, unshaven visage. The life of a teenager from a deplorable upbringing could be pictured as a forked path. You were either a thief who knew the who, when and why of the town, a greenhorn ready to be sent to war at moments notice or death. Jobs and business tended to surface from men who survived he hell either from outside the wall where monster laid waiting for their next meal or invading countries armed with better weapons and armor than most peasants OR from those who either evaded the guard's radar and managed to get enough money as to hang up the knife. He wouldn't know if he should be grateful to be alive as a soldier but to suffer the constant attacks of beasts and creatures from all shapes or figures, or to be sad as to have yet to embrace the cold embrace of death in order to escape this seemingly never-ending struggle against the dark forces. Every day was either a bet made with the sword, or returning to the barracks where the human limits were tested. It was not unheard about magical experiments being tested on the soldiers, and while some were successful to bring cures and even create stronger (yet sometimes monstrous) soldiers there were also times where the soldiers had to stop a rampaging beasts or a new type of threat through the kingdom. And this is why he tried to never stick out as a super soldier nor be seen as a useless soldier who'd be better on the cutting board. [/sub][/collapse] [collapse=The Disaster: The fangs of true evil][color=red]Y[/color][sub]ou just don't fuck with dragons, even if you are known as the dragon slayer and even if you have three hundred giant lizard corpses under your belt. You never underestimate them, you never turn your back or them or never making sure that they stay extra dead. Every one knows that the moment you see a dragon hovering under something, that something and the surrounding everything will turn into nothing but charcoal. The magical citadel of Endymion has stated that dragons cannot be grouped up in the same category altogether, and they take two of the most famous dragon races to show the complexity of these creatures. The first and most popular among dragons is none other than the incredible rare and powerful Blue-Eyes White Dragon, its majesty and presence served as inspiration for many pieces of art and even a symbol of absolute power. The incredible might of a single creature like this is enough to throw countries into total disaster, forcing them to send their best in order to kill the creature and even then it tends to be a thing of luck when faced against its incredible, destructive power. Yet despite their matchless power and beauty beyond belief, their longevity has made their numbers scarce and the amount of eggs the entire population of White Dragons produce each hundred of years can be counted with the tip of one's fingers. So despite their seemingly limitless power, the only reason why they have yet to wipe any other race that they consider a threat is because of the sheer lack of numbers. Thus, the world is safe from their fangs. Yet there's another species that's completely different from theirs and is the so called 'rat' of the dragon species, it is none other than the Red-Eyes Black Dragon. A fearsome creature that puts the blade of any dragon hunter to the test, and they tend to be one of the worst things any demon might encounter. They are incredibly weak compared to the fearsome Blue-Eyes, but what they lack in power they can easily compensate in sheer quantity. Not only is their life cycle much shorter than their cousins, but they tend to spawn many eggs in a matter of years which tends to be quite troublesome for any kingdom or empire that's unlucky enough to have a forest where these creatures decided to nest. Even when all it takes is for a single Dragon Slayer to kill a Red-Eyes, where you find one you'll find at least twenty awaiting for their prey. Unlike their arrogant brothers, the Red-Eyes is a more communal creature that'll help their kind and form groups to rush their enemy. This is the reason why the Blue-Eyes and the Red-Eyes are considered equal in strength and why the first avoids the latter despite being the superior dragon. And these, are even a tiny fraction of the tip of the iceberg that is the dragon tree. Tomes upon tomes are filled with all kind of data and names of the dragons that inhabit these lands, some are so weak a mere peasant can get rid of them. Others are so powerful they can be considered a world-class threat. And this is why both dragon slayers exist, either submitting to a kingdom or adventuring in search for new lands. They are considered as the best unnatural slayers as dealing with powerful dragons could be called the epitome of being a demon slayer. For those who can deal with threats of that level can easily dispatch all other kind of monsters, even specters and the such. Their might is known and they tend to drown themselves in riches while living the high life. For the country who has more of those warriors under their claws can be considered one step above the others, that is the power these men have. For even against the human's controls of magic, these men's blade are known to cut through even the thickest of illusions and then stab through even the most destructive of magics. [/sub][/collapse] [collapse=The Despair: The death knight of the round table][color=red]O[/color][sub]ne of the most admired knights of the kingdom was also one of the most humble, for his poor origin gave him empathy and compassion which most snotty nobles seemed to lack. And it was this knight who choose the boy he once rescued as his squire, yet the reason for this was unknown. Anyone would have chosen the number one soldier to be trained by a legend like him, but instead he took the third-best who survived most of the time by sheer luck rather than actual strength or skill. Elders do say that luck is a skill by its own, but he never understood that line of thinking. The life of a squire is one filled with dangers beyond what humanity should be able to deal with, but the legendary hero fought against abominations which felt like they could easily rip mountains apart and for some reason always came on top. Sometimes even sending the monster's limbs to the kingdom in order to further their magical knowledge or to craft all manners of potions. He was both admired and hated, for some nobles thought of him as a revolutionary. Despite countless sacrifices and battles that seemed to be the end of the hero, he'd always try to protect the people be it rich or poor. Yet a lot of the first mentioned forgot his heroic acts and began to plot against him, after all he had rejected the countless offers to be their puppet. In their mind, this could be considered treason of the highest degrees. And thus began one of the worst catastrophes this kingdom has ever faced. Soon enough on the blue sky two shapes appeared, dragons with scales too colorful to be anything the mages had ever seen. And with neither warning nor threat they began to attack the peasants and the royals all the same, rounding them up and bringing cleansing flames upon their bodies. Screams and bails could be hear through the streets as even the bravest and most powerful of soldiers and magicians were turned into nothing but dust. And when the two dragons were finally slayed by the people's champion, the fight was brutal enough that the once paragon of justice laid on the mud. His eyes closed to never open again. Needless to say, the nobles who came with the bright idea ended up with their necks on the chopping block. The damage was done, and the loses of peasants became big enough to directly affect the higher ups. The moral plummeted and the hordes of monsters that came afterwards were actually a big threat now that they required several more peasants with deal with the special and dangerous types of beasts that the legendary hero tended to take care of. Not even a heir of his power was left, but there WAS someone who had been traveling with him for many, many years...[/sub] [/collapse] [collapse=The Hero: Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordsman][color=red]T[/color][sub]he only hope, the man that accompanied the legendary hero, was already making his bags. No way in hell he was staying at that place anymore, the place his mentor once protected with the utmost love betrayed him and doomed the place with a horde of creatures weakening the defenses and the morale every single day. He could even pinpoint the exact moment where they'd either revolt against the king or get massacred by the creatures residing within the forest. It was as if that place mass produced them, for no matter how many they killed the woods would always be filled with those creatures ready to jump at anything remotely human. Seeing that his skills could be used to make mad money, it was not hard to predict him leaving the palace in search for somewhere more stable to be. Even the knights designed to guard the king were dispatched in the blink of an eye, the super soldier managing to break through the walls that sealed him away and roaring into freedom. But that did not mean everything was going to be peach colored, and the once honorable and righteous apprentice returned to his roots. Thinking that working under any king would be like back home, it would come as no surprise why he would work as a mercenary. Using the years of skills and hard working to procure blood-stained gold, rarely thinking of anything but his own self. That he wished was true, but a small village had captivated his heart. A peaceful place where everybody helped everybody, and why shouldn't they? The only have one another in these grim times. The harmony irradiating all over the place was the only reason why he decided to give the people his services in exchange for pretty much nothing, after all a lot of the routes and missions he took for one reason or another took him to this place. It was strange, as if the very Exodia was gripping the reins of his life.[/sub] [/collapse] [hr] [indent][indent][indent][indent][indent][img=94831]lololololol[/img][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent] [collapse=Battle Statics] ☯ [color=red][sub][b][STR][/b][/sub][/color][color=green][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚[/sub][/color][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚ [/sub] ☯ [color=red][sub][b][DEF][/b][/sub][/color][color=green][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚[/sub][/color][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚ [/sub] ☯ [color=red] [sub][b][DEX][/b][/sub][/color][color=green][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚[/sub][/color][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚ [/sub] ☯ [color=red][sub][b][INT][/b][/sub][/color][color=green][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚[/sub][/color][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚ [/sub] ☯ [color=red][sub][b][WIS][/b][/sub][/color][color=green][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚[/sub][/color][sub]❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚❚ [/sub] [color=red][b]T[/b][/color][sub]he Buster Blader is a knight specialized in the eradication of dragons, being one of the two highest ranks attainable for those who primarily focus on defeating unnatural creatures. Anything bellow a Dragon's level is considered fodder for the knight, but this does not mean that they will lower their guard down. Despite their armor made out of several thousands of different dragon scales in order to resist mana of all kinds and manners, they are still susceptible to it and a strong enough magician can effectively break through their defenses. It also grants the wearer unnatural strength, but unlike most rough and inflexible full plates this one allows the wearer a lot of room to jump, run and even swim as if it was a second skin. The sword they swing can absorb the power of opposing dragons and grows stronger the more draconic blood it is poured on the blade, drinking their vital energy and strength in order to become much powerful. It still requires maintenance and it gains weight the more power it obtains, sometimes even surpassing what little the armor brings to the table. Yet the armor acts like a multiplier rather than a simple power addition, so a knight must become stronger every day in order to maintain the strength multiplier as high as possible. Some even adopting a monk-like diet and slave-like training routine in order to maintain the armor's blessing much higher than the sword's heaviness. By doing so, the knight can actually wield that heavy and powerful two-handed longsword as if it was a lightweight short-sword. The multiplier being so high the weight ends up weightless for the knight's hand. All knights know that no matter how much they grip their large blades, there are times they find themselves unable to use them. To remedy that, the armor possesses small, sharp ends on both elbows and a small opening around his hips where a small knife is stored. The blade is resistant enough that it can actually break through a dragon's scales if enough force is placed on the tip, but only against the lower class of dragons. It tends to be used as a last resort for how easy it is to shatter, some demons and even rock creatures being immune to it. [/sub] [/collapse] [collapse=Companions/Enemies][/collapse] [collapse=RP Worlds/Ideas] [b]→[/b][sub][The Killing] : There exist many ways in which one can make money if one has been born as the literal definition of 'muscle-brain', you either become a soldier, a thief, a marauder or even a gladiator. The latter being one with perhaps the most popularity and whose name is thrown around in bars, for not does he fight against mere humans. He is also pitted against the most terrible of creatures, with blood as acid and glares that can petrify. Yet only a handful of human gladiators reach the very top and are rewarded with a peculiar kind of fight. The public not only wishes for blood, but also for a more erotic spectacle. So there exist rounds where the best male fighter is pitted against the best of the female league, yet their races are seldom equal. This allows for a more exotic experience, with woman getting publicly raped by the favorite minotaurs or the hero of men making a bumbling mess off fearsome yet beautiful creatures. The best part is that the winner takes all and the defeated might either be executed or thrown in the same jail as the victor, their lives being downgraded as nothing but objects for the surviving gladiator. [/sub] [b]→[/b][sub][The Newcomers] : How many times have you heard of a village where both humans and monsters happily coexist? Soldiers of all races and backgrounds wearing the same uniform, pledging their loyalty to the knight of an once powerful kingdom. Surely this means that they have never heard the word of the human gods who protect them and warm them about mixing with inhuman creatures, and if not then exterminating them in order to stop their influence. So the inquisition sends their best warriors to combat such heresy, knowing not that a traitor ran among their ranks.[/sub] [b]→[/b][sub][The Hunt] : Dragons are creatures valued because of their scales, their fangs and even their organs containing vasts amount of mana. Sometimes being hunted because of the level of their level of threat or even as a rite of passage to become a true Buster Blader. Be it whatever you wish, this lonesome one has found a dragon ready for the plucking. Yet this particular knight's idea of 'looting' might come as a little bit more depraved, reversing the formula of the knight in shining armor rescuing the princess from the claws of the dragons. Sometimes, all those scaled bastards need is to get calmed in the most swift and brutal of fashions. After all, outright killing them will ruin their business and they require as much of their kind as possible and it is a well known fact that dragons tend to be able to breed with almost anything. Perhaps the reason why a lot of buster bladers have a little bit of dragon swimming in their blood.[/sub] [b]→[/b][sub][The Invasion] : The flames raged around the once peaceful village, the smell of blood and screams filled the air until the sound of metal going through flesh slowly made the soaring flames the only one emitting sound. It does not matter if you are a human or a monster, the band lead by a stray buster blader has been known to appear in random locations and to ravage anything that was near them. Their infamy being so great armies had been dispatched to deal with the problem, but against a buster blader there is little one can do. Yet one thing is known about the band, and that is the strange amount of humans and monstrous beings working together under the knight, the unity of human's intellect and the monster's sheer power making attacking them an almost impossible feat. Another thing about them is that it is a group fully composed of males, most of the time during raids they make sure to get a good supply of women in order to celebrate their victory. The bodies of men and children burned in a large bonfire while the captured are used to calm their hunger as meat (sometimes human) and wine is passed around. Truly a sight only found in hell.
