Shout out to Yizziko for all the help with crunch on spider abilities in D&D.
A Giant Spider, Arachnus has eight regular legs and two more dextrous forelegs used for grabbing and holding. His bite contains relaxing toxin that quickly leaves prey helpless as well as an strong aphrodisiac to assist in mating. His abdomen has spinnerets on the rear for creating web, and an slit on the bottom where a long ovipositor can extend. The ovipositor is bulbous with a tapered off tip for inserting into the womb. Once in position, eggs and a nutritious green slime are pumped into the prey to incubate for a period of time. [collapse=Extra Description] [big]Web[/big] Lots of different kinds of webs can be made from his spinnerets. 1. A tough ropelike web that's tougher than steel. Can be made sticky or not. Used for making actual webs and ensnaring and holding prey. 2. A sweet edible web that is reminiscent of cotton candy. 3. Rare silky web that can be woven into cloth. Both fire-retardant and more resistant to damage than reinforced leather, it makes excellent lightweight armour.
[big]Venom[/big] The venom he produces is a potent aphrodisiac, coursing through the body and relaxing muscles to keep prey still. Once it reaches the brain and genitals, it induces a chemical heat causing bitten prey to become wet and begin fantasizing. [/collapse] [collapse=Combat] Extremely agile even for his size, Arachnus sports an array of biological weaponry. Victories: 6 Losses: 1 [collapse=Current Abilities] [big]Natural Abilities[/big]
Uncanny Reflexes: Spiders have strange movements that many are not accustomed to, as well as being naturally agile. Arachnus uses his speed for the majority of situations, due to having a relatively frail armor. Darkvision & Low-Light Vision: Arachnus has many eyes with magic properties, granting him ultraviolet and infrared vision. Tremorsense: If Arachnus is on the ground he can sense the vibrations of any target also in contact with the floor. Thick Exoskeleton: A tough chitin protects Arachnus from some damage, but would not hold up for long under a more powerful assault. Tough Web: Arachnus sports powerful spinnerets. Producing ropes of tough web, each strand five times as strong as steel of the same size. [big]Bioweapons[/big]
Produce Offspring: While the proper way that Arachnus reproduces is through oviposition into a host he can lay eggs that will hatch into spiderlings that won't last more than a few hours. These babies are weak by themselves but can quickly swarm if their numbers are allowed to swell. Debilitating Toxin: Only applicable through a direct bite, the toxin causes tissue damage and immense pain. Paralysis Toxin: A dose of powerful paralytic is added to his bite, one shot lowering reflexes and higher doses paralyzing the body completely. His offspring have the same toxins, but in much smaller doses. Only through multiple bites could they take effect. Shoot Web: The staple of any spider, Arachnus can fire a wad of sticky web at his opponent. Arachnus can also weave large webs for protection, staking out his opponent and forcing them to fight on his turf. Deafening Screech: Loud piercing sounds are emitted from Arachnus and his offspring, while not threatening if you're standing a ways off. It will leave most foes stunned for a moment if up close. [/collapse] [collapse=Possible Abilities] These might be switched in, and new slots are gained when Arachnus reins victorious over his enemies. The more victories he gains, the more abilities he gains. Spines: Large spines are located all over Arachnus's body. Anyone wishing to attack him at melee range must be careful when they attack in order to avoid being stabbed. If Arachnus has an opponent properly grappled, he can impale them on his back. Harpooning: Arachnus can fire two secondary fangs at an opponent, they secrete a thick glue and remain attached to Arachnus. If they both successfully hit a human sized opponent Arachnus may reel them in for a free bite attack. If the opponent is larger, they fangs will be merely yanked out, doing damage a second time. Impalement: With a pounce, Arachnus throws his entire body. Sticking out his legs like swords and impaling the foe. Smaller enemies get hit with less legs as they are not large enough to take all of them. Shadow Walk: Arachnus moves very quickly through the plane of shadows. He turns into a shadow and flattens into the ground as he moves. Unable to leave the shadows this ability is most efficient at night or under cover. Tainted Soul: Arachnus is healed by negative energy and damaged by positive energy. Blood Drain: Arachnus must have an enemy pinned to begin a drain, dealing some damage each turn until thrown off. Ethereal Jaunt: Arachnus shifts into the ethereal plane, becoming ghostly and immaterial. Physical attacks cannot harm him, but he must shift out if he wishes to attack his foe. Acid Spit: Comparatively weak, it can melt cloth in an instant but requires time to burn through metals. Arachnus can shoot this from a distance with terrifying accuracy, or concentrate it and drip it onto things for a more powerful effect. I'm honestly flattered everyone, but I should probably establish some stuff. 1. I generally do not respond to random PMs unless they have something to catch my attention, or you're a friend. 2. If my status is not set to Looking, I am not in the mood for roleplaying. I only roleplay when my status is set to looking, or I start something in a public channel. Going in hand with the first point, I usually don't respond to PMs if I'm not looking. 3. Arachnus is usually played as very intelligent, more intelligent than would be expected of a giant spider. This does not mean that he cannot be played as a beast or uncaring monster. 4. I am very particular about males if they want to run something sexual with this character. Femininity is a must, anything else is up to me to decide. If I'm not interested, that's just the way it'll go. [/collapse]
