A young woman born to privilege and gifted with powerful magic. I have a setting for her, though I can slip her into any setting that allows magic and has a stratified class system, preferably a fantasy one. With a bit of tweaking, she can fit well enough into modern/urban fantasy.
The girl was short, but beautiful in her youthfulness. Her hair was somewhere between the colour of butter and gold and her eyes, cool and sharp, were the deep blue of a summer morning's sky. She was a slender girl, and her height made her seem younger than she was. Most people pegged her in the middle of her teens. Though she had the curving waist of a woman, her chest was rather modest.

She wore a dress the colour of clouds. They were white clouds, of course, lending her pale skin some colour. Accents of deep blue were woven into her clothing. Floral designs for the most part, and vivid green served to highlight the blues, depicting a stem and leaf here and a vine there. It was a well-made dress, and very obviously one that cost more money than some people would see in a decade. A silk ribbon of colour with those floral accents was tied in her hair, keeping her forelocks from her eyes. It seemed almost superfluous with her blunt, straight fringe.

Her face was a pretty one, though it was seemingly without warmth. Her beauty was that of a doll or a statue, flawless save for one all-too-evident foible. It was perhaps this coldness that lent a presence to her slight frame and a terribleness to her prettiness. She was draped idly against a wall, engaged in conversation with a man wearing the black-blue robe of the University, her voice sophisticated, elegant and as frigidly charming as she was.
[big]🌹P[/big]ERSONALITY

Alessa has more than a few entitlement issues. Coming across as arrogant and supercilious, anyone below her station should do exactly as she says, and anyone who is not human is almost invariably below her station.

The Delacroix family is supposedly 100% human pedigree, or as near as one can get these days and has been integral to Arland since its founding days. Everyone should know about her family, and if they didn't before they met her, they'll definitely know about it after five minutes with her. She is intensely proud of her heritage. Well, that and the fact that she's had her every desire pandered to since she was old enough to talk. Her pride in her race, her family and not least of all herself define her attitude toward others.

Alessa is very intelligent, and she knows it. Her skill with magic is rare for a human, and she knows it. She has no doubt in her mind that she is most certainly the most brilliant young woman in all of Zauberfeld; possibly all of Arland. It helps that she has a wonderful sense of fashion, too, of course. Add a talent with manipulation, a sharp-tongue, and a nigh-psychopathic disregard for most other living creatures, and you have a picture of the conceited young woman that is Alessa.

The daughter of a certain, prosperous noble house, Alessa wanted for nothing. Servants catered to her every whim and followed her every order. This lead to the blossoming of a beautiful young woman whose world revolves around herself. Blessed with not only looks, but intelligence and prodigious magical abilities, Alessa is very vocal about her wants and expects them to be attended to straight away.

When Alessa was born, everyone was somewhat disappointed. Her parents had rather hoped for a boy. While they kept trying, however, they resolved to raise their firstborn to be the perfect lady. Whether it was due to natural inclination or because she was rather forced into it, the young Alessa showed an inclination toward feminine pursuits; sewing, poetry, sighing longingly and the like. It was also noted that she was bound to be quite an attractive woman. Her parents could not have asked for a more powerful political tool.

One year passed, then the next, then the next. They marched on to time's unheard beat, and as they did, it became more apparent that Bertrand Delacroix was not going to have any more children. By the time this realisation hit the Lord and Lady Delacroix, Alessa was in her sixth year of living. The obliging nature with which she'd been treated by her father and his servants had spoilt her quite badly, and she felt that she was very much entitled to whatever she wanted. This, of course, led to tantrums on the odd occasion that her desires were left unfulfilled by her caretakers, but these tantrums were a short-lived phase. It was about this time she learnt another skill necessary for any noblewoman: manipulation.

It was a few days before her seventh birthday that she discovered she had the gift of magic. The discovery was very much by accident. Her father was holding a feast, and her cousin, Fenrich, had been pinching her side for half an hour straight in an attempt to make her embarrass herself in front of her family and their guests. She wished for nothing more than for Fenrich's hair to catch on fire. When it did, she felt a single pang of guilt. Far worse was the banishment to her room that she received when Celia Thaystone, the House Magician, identified Alessa as the cause of the problem.

They say that harsh ground produces the hardiest flowers, and as far as Alessa was concerned, the rigorous training she underwent in the weeks following the incident constituted some of the hardest ground ever. She came out the other side in full control of her magical abilities, however, and Celia happily declared to Lord and Lady Delacroix that their daughter showed much promise in the field of magical ability. This should not have come as too great a shock as Alessa's mother was from a long line of distinguished wizards, but to think that their little girl was going to command the elements nevertheless came as something of a shock to the family. Alessa, on the other hand, was very much pleased with the results the harsh ground had given forth.

From that day onward, a change began to creep over Alessa. She was still very much feminine, still dainty and proper and all the things expected of a young woman of the nobility, but she became infinitely more commanding. For the first time in her life, she felt she had power beyond the lies and manipulative deception most nobles wielded. She attacked her magical studies with a voracity which rivalled even her study of etiquette and poetry; both of which she considered very important. Her tutors hailed her as a prodigy, though whether it was true or simply politeness toward her Lord and Lady parents and fear of their daughter, no one rightly knows.

She'd always had certain skills that her father knew would lend her readily to leading House Delacroix. She was intelligent and insightful, assertive and proud. That pride was a double-edged sword, however. In Alessa's eyes, humans were the epitome of creation. They not only moulded the land to suit their purpose, but they infused it with magic in ways that no dwarven builder or elven artisan would dare. Amongst humans, it was the upper class that were exemplary. She saw the commoners as dirty, smelly wretches who rolled around in dirt and filth all day. The middle-class were a step above them (or perhaps only half a step), but it was the nobility and royalty that deserved respect and adoration. These suspicions were proved correct when Alessa was thirteen. Her mother and father were returning from a holiday by the sea when their caravan was beset by bandits. Alessa's father was the only one to return from that trip, and after he had sufficiently recovered, his doting upon Alessa only increased.

Without her mother to guide her, Celia became In an effort to ground and acquaint his daughter with the lower classes, Bertrand sent his daughter out on a journey with nary a serving girl. His strength of will against his daughter's was admirable, but it only held due to his the ever dutiful Celia's grim auguries of what would happen should Alessa not go on the aforementioned journey. So it was that she was drawn by carriage to the southern reaches of Demia, past the Arland borders and deposited in the small Windcrestish village of Mora.[/collapse]

[collapse=Kidnapped!]An affluent house is always a tempting target for invaders and untold riches can tempt even the most loyal citizen. In this scenario, Alessa's kidnapped. Are you the kidnapper or her rescuer?[/collapse]
[collapse=Coming of Age]Her eighteenth birthday rapidly approaching, Alessa has been charged with a quest to prove she is capable of protecting the fief she will one day rule. Despite her protests, her father has insisted that her daughter is accompanied by others. This scenario lends itself to adventure and romance with the possibility of bad ends.[/collapse]
[collapse=The Tutor]Be it in magic, history, etiquette or practically any other topic under the sun, her parents have contracted a tutor to teach Alessa. Probably more a slice of life scenario than anything.[/collapse]
