The Unlucky Lab Bat[/b][/color]

[justify]Mallory once made the mistake of going on a date with the brother of her high schools head cheerleader, she was cruelly informed after that such a privilege was reserved only for cheerleaders and so started her four years of being endlessly bullied. The pretty little fruit bat heavily regretted the date particularly since it hadn’t even been that memorable and the mistake was never again repeated, with anyone! Instead to escape the constant humiliation at school Mallory delved into her studies particularly science as the ability to make objective observations and decisions helped her not to dwell on her unhappiness. With her senior year almost at a close and her academic world doing much better than her social one Mallory has decided that baby steps back into being social are needed, and so she found a popular multiplayer game online, after all a virtual friend was one tiny step closer to feeling like she could try and make friends again in person.

Mallory is looking forward to a summer internship as a laboratory assistant and between that pleasure and her exploration of the virtual game world she is gaining confidence. [/justify]

The diary entry is written in neat block letters, but it looks less like a diary entry and more like a lab report!

[i][u][b]74 Days til Graduation[/b][/u]

[b]Introduction:[/b] The day went unpleasantly as usual, I certainly don't anticipate different results until summer when my lab internship can begin.

[b]Problem:[/b] Why is it than even when the others have ceased their verbal and physical torments one of them carries on and singles me out for continued harassment?

[b]Hypothesis:[/b] Despite the pack mentality that seems to rule the rest, he is not merely playing along with them, his distaste of me apparently runs deeper for some reason.

[b]Procedure:[/b] I could attempt to investigate why he focuses on me to my detriment. I have no previous data to indicate that I have bested him in any humiliating fashion, nor any data linking him so closely to the others that he should continue to torment me now that they have lost interest. Despite further investigation being the best procedure, I think I will attempt avoidance again tomorrow as the results there are varied where as direct confrontation shows no positive results.

[b]Data: [/b]My observational data remains unchanged, class was interesting but otherwise uneventful. I had my wings pulled and the only observable change was that it did not hurt as badly today though if this is because my tormentor showed restraint after seeing my discomfort or if it is because I have become immune to the mild pain is unknown. I would need to test the hypothesis that I may have gained some pain tolerance, but I find the idea of such a test unpleasant, undoubtedly I will have more data to support the hypothesis as things naturally occur. I have observed a decrease in hostile activities from the rest of the student body and an increased focus on the upcoming social pleasantries. I have not yet observed any of the customary Prom chatter, but I am certain it is forthcoming.

[b]Analysis: [/b]Though the day was unpleasant and though tomorrow likely promises the same I can only attempt to bolster my optimism by noting that with the bustle of more important social matters to attend to the daily torment I would usually be subjected to may have reached a plateau and be about to drop or even cease altogether.

[b]Conclusion:[/b] I will find something to distract myself and I will surely be able to endure the current conditions until graduation, particularly as I have much to look forward to. Soon reptilian brutes will be behind me.[/i]
