Welcome to the city of the future. A dimensional crossroads, only one Continuum City exists, yet it
appears in numerous realities. No one is sure how many realities house Continuum City, only that
they do. To those in the realities that house Continuum City, they rarely find a reason to go there.
Yet, the City calls to various people, drawing them inwards. Permanent residents exists here, but
the City always has travelers coming and going. It is a massive city, filled with life and opportunity,
as well as danger and violence. No one truly understands the City, and it is likely they never will.

[sub]Continuum City is the official setting of the -Heroes and Villains- private channel. It is a dimensional crossroads. Only
one version of the City exists, but it is accessible to most realities that resemble modern Earth or semi-future Earth.
It is a large city and most in their reality know about it, but lack interest in it. News about it rarely makes it out to the
surrounding realities and news from outside it rarely penetrates it. Still, those not native to the city have no problem
tuning into news from their home reality more often than not. The City thus can often fool new travelers into thinking
it exists only in their reality and is a "best kept secret" sort of place.
In a nutshell, this allows superhero comic setting characters (from DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, or original) to
crossover within the City. However, due to the nature of the City, nearly any type of person can arrive. This includes
people from the future or the past, be them original characters or canons. Walking on-foot or traveling to the City from
a modern or future reality is possible but other denizens may enter through a spell gone wrong or simply via portal.
Some may even enter by opening the wrong door and walking inside. Many realities have different ways of accessing
the City. Those from non-modern or futuristic eras, such as medieval fantasy or feudal eras are, at any rate, rarer than
other visitors.
The City resembles a large, modern day city with a somewhat elevated technology level. It has many of the trappings
one would expect in a city and it includes the surroundings to some extent. Though there are plenty of unique locales
in the city, virtually any sort of location can exist, such as parks, clubs, bars, and shops and stores of every color. People
roleplaying within the city are welcomed to create new locations and describe them. In fact, we encourage you to send
a note to a moderator or a PM to one, if your location is so prolific that we can add it to this profile. In the end, the City
is what its people make it, and that includes you--reading this![/sub]
1. Technology remains consistent and does not leave. Items that would be out of place in one's home reality often
find their way back to the city, or end up lost or non-functioning. The city rarely permits someone to keep things that are well above their technological pay-grade.
2. All types of magic and ability work within the city. Magic of all kinds function here, as do technologies that rely on
specific occurrences in other realities. Biotics from Mass Effect, the Force from Star Wars, chakra and ki, everything
functions as it normally would.
3. The Calling--the desire to enter the city--can be felt by just about anyone. It is an inexplicable urge. Sometimes,
it comes with a message and other times it is just a feeling. Sometimes, the Calling is so strong that a person never
leaves the City and other times they remain for only a day. Attempts to figure out where the Calling comes from will
always fail. No one is sure where it comes from.
4. It is not considered overly strange to see yourself, or a similar version to yourself. The City does not have official
versions of canon characters. Original and canon characters are welcome to call Continuum City their home, however,
only original characters can have their origin as coming from the City itself. Superman's pod cannot have crash landed
in Continuum City, for example.
5. The City's dimensional nature is tricky. People can fade out before your eyes with no explanation and be ported
back to their home dimension, or even shunted to a nearby dimension. This is largely an explanation for people who
suddenly disconnect or leave without explanation during a roleplay, or who simply have to go. It is also used to explain
people who spontaneously show up in roleplay.[/sub]
Natives: Those born in the city are considered Natives, as well as Callers who have stayed long enough to be accepted
by the City. To Natives, Continuum City is home, and they experience an almost reverse-Calling effect: they do not want
to leave the city, generally speaking. Canon characters can never become Natives to Continuum City, though they can
call it home just the same. Original characters native to canon universes can also become natives, though with greater
difficulty.
Callers: Those who visit the city from other realities. All of the aforementioned facts of the city apply to them. Callers
may remain Callers despite spending years and years in the City itself, or some may instantly become Natives. Natives
may become Callers again by leaving the City and spending a distinct amount of time outside it. Original characters can
swap between the two designation with some difficulty. All canon characters are forever Callers.[/sub]
Thirteen years ago, Continuum City decided it wanted a gridiron football team. The city council contacted
Quasar Industries to construct a state-of-the-art stadium on the city docks, and it was done. A technological
marvel that seats 123,000 people, with bleeding edge security and fully digital facilities in order to capture
the game in all of its glory, Continuum Stadium is now the home of the Continuum Stars. A relatively young
team that only began playing ten years ago, it has found success as of late with consistent playoff
appearances largely due to the teams current star quarterback, Jeff Riggins. The stadium features
a retractable roof, a well-maintained grass field and numerous elevated platforms. It even features hover
platforms that allow a close view of the game for lucky ticket holders. Due to the nature of the city, all players
are required to play the game with specialized helmets that suppress any sort of metahuman or magical
powers, to ensure an even playing field.
There are books hundreds of years old written in languages that are not human as well as artifacts with the power to do just about anything. While the building appears to be large on the outside, it is even larger on the inside. The outside of the house is littered with wards designed to keep uninvited guests such as enemies or paparazzo away, people who have dared cross its fences uninvited has been reported to suddenly appear a hundred miles away and the ones who have been stupid enough to try and cross violently or using magic have found themselves wading out of the Continuum City bay having spent the last hour as a mollusk.
The house itself is largely alive, and it is much larger on the inside. It is an inter-dimensional home and as such, it is warded off from other realms for protection, and you may only enter when taken to this inter-dimension by Zatanna's hand and with allowance to enter with her magical words. The house morphs and changes to suit the needs of its inhabitants, with many long corridors and halls, plenty of rooms with many magical items in each. If you get lost, you need only speak the words 'Take me home' to be teleported back to your quarters and need only think of a specific room to find yourself inside, if not privately used by another inhabitant. After Electro, and a Skrull disguised as Elektra instituted a mass prison break that was later stopped by a few of the Avengers, such as Iron Man, Captain America, and the Superior Spider Man himself, forty-six villains had still been released. The waters around the island in a half-mile radius are infested with jellyfish that possess a powerful nerve-toxin. The courtyard is protected by a force field and thirty ray-guns coordinated by a targeting computer. All guards wear light armor with obscured faces developed by Mach-V and carry electroshock weapons that only work when operated by a specific guard.
Of course, this was all before a prison riot was led by the Spider-Slayer. Once the Superior Spider Man put this threat to rest, he then blackmailed J. Jonah Jameson into handing over the keys to the kingdom. Once renovated once more, Spider Man took ownership of The Raft and soon changed its name to 'Spider Island', the purpose of making the former prison his own personal headquarters and a bastion for many Spider-heroes the city abound. While it may be big on the outside, Titan's Tower is larger on the inside, using technology salvaged from Kryptonian and Gordanian spacecrafts for the main computer system and other mechanical schematics. Outside the tower, the island is littered with security measures and booby traps should any criminals, villains or vigilantes try and attack head on.
On the outside of the tropical base, the Tower has a garden, a basketball and volleyball court and a pool where the Titans can relax when they're not training or fighting crime. Inside, there is a gym, workout room and obstacle course for training, a garage for vehicles like Robin's R-Cycle, and a hanger for the Titans' ride for both deep sea and deep space: the T-sub. On the upper floors of the Tower is the main ops/living room where most of the Titans hang out with 3 massive window panes that has a view of the sea and the neighboring Bellham district. Some of the Titans can be found playing video games or all of them can be seen there watching movies in the evening. There's also a kitchen where members like Robin and Beast Boy can do cooking for themselves or their teammates. Finally past a set of double automatic doors are the rooms where all the Titans live, as well as the bathrooms. The roof contains a helicopter pad where aircraft can safely land, and sometimes members of the team go up there to either watch the sunrise or sunset.[/small]

[small]Located right beneath Wayne Manor on the outskirts of Bellham, the Batcave is the primary headquarters of Batman himself. Before his parents' murder, Bruce Wayne was unaware of the caves beneath his family mansion, until he accidentally fell in when he was a toddler. Years later, when he had matured, Bruce explored the cavern and got an idea for how vast it was. Upon Alfred's suggestion to utilize it for his war against crime, Bruce agreed with his guardian and adopted the caverns for his secret operations center, and it was within these caves that Bruce created the mantle of Batman.
When he's not at the Watchtower, keeping the streets of Continuum City safe or mentoring the young heroes in the Hall of Justice, Batman can normally be found in the Batcave getting info on Continuum's notorious criminals and develops his plan of attack, which he shares with his teammates in the League. The Batmobile, Batboat, Batcycle and Batwing are all housed in the cave, but the most important tool in Batman's arsenal is his massive computer that he uses for everything from analyzing chemicals to bringing up old newspaper articles relevant to any new criminals in Continuum.
The Batcave can also serve as a refuge for the Justice League if the Watchtower and Hall of Justice fall in enemy hands. Yet the Batcave not only includes wax dummies and robotic combat training replicas of Batman's enemies, but it also contains original or replicated costumes of infamous members of the rogue's gallery from his dimmension. Other items which are found in the cave include Mr. Freeze's cold gun and headpiece, the evil puppet Scarface, a giant penny from his encounter with Two-Face, a robotic T-Rex, an enlarged copy of one of Joker's trademark cards as well as samurai armor and weapons.
A display case, which includes the costumes of Batman's partners from his dimension: Robin, Catwoman, Batgirl and himself, is placed near the stairway to Wayne Manor. There is also an overwhelmingly impenetrable lead security vault where Batman keeps boxes of Kryptonite slivers should any rogue Kryptonians attack.[/small]
It also contains a fully functional spa and resort for stress management and relaxation. Catering to all strata of Continuum City, the fitness center is a complete operation unto itself, providing nutritional food, health supplements, and training programs for a myriad of physical fitness concerns and activities. Thousands of visitors pass through the glass doors everyday, eager to find a new healthy lifestyle.
Underneath the main dome is the area that most super-humans would be looking for. Failsafe offers the same training programs that he used to offer to League members. He doesn't discriminate, offering training to both heroes and villains. The only thing he will not tolerate is a disruption to his teaching environment. For students seeking intensive training, he offers housing for any students who meet his exacting standards. He offers training in nearly a thousand different forms of unarmed combat, as well as training in melee weapons. Students preferring ranged weapons can be instructed in both ancient and modern versions.
The lower levels contain the most intense training facility constructed in the world. It contains firing ranges, death traps, sparring areas, and the tools of the assassin trade. It is possibly the most dangerous training facility in the world, but has a full range of hyper technological medical devices.

The Terminal complex itself stretches from Ironbrook all the way to Wellbourne, the result of every new member adding on to the Terminal to provide a space for themselves in the various nooks and crannies of sewer systems and pipes found below. Even if the Terminal itself is a common-ground for many various crooks and criminals, ground wars take place almost daily, as the Pipes that lead out through districts have been claimed by various gangs, each taking their hold on a section of this underground city beneath the sprawling City of Continuum. In some awkward, gossip riddled tellings of the location, Belle Reve is seen as an asylum that hosts the craziest residents of Continuum City. And while that isn't incorrect, it's not correct either. Belle Reve is the top prison in all of Continuum because it hosts the holding cells for all of the most dangerous criminals to ever strike. Amanda Waller, the sole warden of Belle Reve is a powerful woman.
Being the prison for many supervillains, it was chosen by Amanda Waller as the headquarters of the Suicide Squad. Criminals can reduce their sentences by working on the missions. Some of the more untrustworthy ones are required to carry devices that will cause maiming or death if they try to escape.
Many, but not all of the staff, work both as prison employees and facilitate Suicide Squad operations. Some of the staff are friends with the more level-headed Squad members. Mechanics work on Squad vehicles. Prison doctors treat prisoners and Squad staff alike. The existence of the Squad brings the facility under attack many times.
The prison has been the focus of much governmental investigations, as it would be a scandal to learn that the United States is using murderous super-villains to further its own ends. Amanda Waller actually served time in Belle Reve when she was convicted on charges stemming from her Squad operations. [big]Cᴏɴᴛɪɴᴜᴜᴍ Aᴠᴇɴɢᴇʀs[/big]
[icon]Avengers[/icon]"Aᴠᴇɴɢᴇʀs Assᴇᴍʙʟᴇ!"
[small]“Continuum City is under attack!” These words had become almost commonplace since the Omega Lanterns laid siege to the city, culminating in a schism between the superhuman community over whether or not the city should draft all costumed and masked vigilantes, resulting in the infamous Continuum City [/small]Civil War[small]. After the dust settled from the War, several other crises had come and gone while city officials fretted over how to approach the problem: costumed heroes were known for property damage in the millions and were largely unorganized.
The solution eventually presented itself when one councilman looked at the various super-groups working together with unmatched efficiency, and thus was born the Avengers. The first among the founding members were tapped by the city and given the pitch: a team of super-humans who could respond to an extinction-event crisis immediately and hold the line, or who could act as first responders for an invasion or superhuman rampage. They were dubbed 'Continuum's Mightiest Heroes', taking a page from some members' home universe, and their base was set up in Aeltown.
When the Avengers opened their doors for enlistment, enrollment promptly exploded, necessitating two sub-divisions. The Young Avengers, consisting of younger heroes in their mid- to late-teens, functions as a sort of training program and mentor-ship with on-site training and experience. The Mutant Division functions similarly to the X-Men: a mutant-outreach program serving to facilitate human-mutant relations and allow mutants to operate above suspicion from the local police.
The Avengers quickly earned the ire of several renegades. The Winter Soldier, Captain America's former sidekick and longtime friend Bucky Barnes, Lady Venom, a woman empowered by an alien symbiote, and Doctor Ductile, a man similarly-empowered to Mr. Fantastic, are just a few of the Avengers' known sworn enemies.[/small]
[big]Cᴏɴᴛɪɴᴜᴜᴍ Jᴜsᴛɪᴄᴇ Lᴇᴀɢᴜᴇ[/big]
[icon]The Justice League[/icon]"Jᴜsᴛ ʟᴏᴏᴋ ᴀʙᴏᴠᴇ ᴡʜᴇɴ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ɪɴ ɴᴇᴇᴅ﹗"
[small]Spring-boarding off the resounding success of the Avengers, city officials shortly announced a second team: The Justice League. Though initially, city officials were unsure of what the League's primary focus should be, it was eventually made into a semi-independent body and allowed to determine its own course. The founding members of the Justice League took up dealing with threats the Avengers were unavailable for or, in some cases, were unwilling or unable to go after, and there was a great amount of crossover as both teams worked to handle invasions and extinction-event threats.
In time, the Justice League grew apart and found its own momentum as the mediating body between civilians and costumed heroes between crises, setting up a Hall of Justice in Glaston. There, the League worked more closely with local police than the Avengers did, and many of its street-level heroes helped the police outright, helping the beleaguered CCPD fill in the gaps. The Watchtower was an extension of the League defining itself as it went, with the Watchtower allowing them to monitor for and respond to threats quickly. In this way, the Justice League found its place acting as a bulwark, while the Avengers favored counterattacks.
Like with the Avengers, when the Justice League took on new enlistment, it exploded in membership. To keep things operating smoothly, there were again several divisions created. The Justice League of America, primarily populated by heavy-hitters like Wonder Woman and Big Barda, also housed the Watchtower's own Angel. The Justice League of America division's primary goal was to locate crisis events and hold the line until the main force or another division could arrive to provide backup, with Angel coordinating them from the Watchtower.
The Young Justice division and the Teen Titans have a similar purpose but greatly different execution. Both function like the Young Avengers, by training young heroes and directly mentoring them in the Young Justice division, the older, wiser heroes prepare them for operating on their own in the Teen Titans. Teen Titans who enjoy a hero's life can choose to join the Justice League or the Justice League of America on their eighteenth birthday. While the Young Justice program operates out of the Hall of Justice, the Teen Titans are relocated to Titans Tower off the coast of Bellham, for the sake of fostering independence and self-reliance.
The Justice League, as the city's other most-famous super-group (sharing the mantle with the Avengers), has made its fair share of enemies. Rogue Kryptonians General Dru-Zod and Sub-Commander Faora-Ul, an evil Kara Zor-El, and countless others rise time and again to threaten the city and challenge the Justice League.[/small]
[big]Jᴜsᴛɪᴄᴇ Lᴇᴀɢᴜᴇ﹕ Dᴀʀᴋ[/big]
[icon]Justice League Dark[/icon]"Dᴏɴ·ᴛ ʙᴇ ᴀғʀᴀɪᴅ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ Dᴀʀᴋ﹗"
[small]Publicly, the Justice League Dark doesn't exist. Among city officials and high-ranking members of the Justice League and Justice League America, however, the Justice League Dark is the city's nearly-official response team for occult events. Nearly every member of the Justice League Dark is either skilled in espionage, magically-potent, or acts as the muscle to keep the more magically-inclined safe during a crisis event, although some exceptions exist.
The Justice League Dark doesn't technically have a base, although members tend to congregate in the officially-abandoned Bellham Manor in Bellham. Unofficially, the manor was a gift from one of the city's most influential families—and a family that believed strongly in the occult, and felt the city needed a line of defense against eldritch creatures far worse than the comparatively-mundane threat of superhuman extraterrestrials. Guests to the manor are rare, instead, almost all business with the Justice League Dark takes place using the Hall of Justice as neutral ground. Almost everyone in the Justice League who is not privy to the Dark League's existence are told that the Hall is sometimes used as a meeting ground for unaffiliated heroes.
The Justice League Dark, as a semi-black-ops super-group, doesn't have an official division structure, although younger proteges and other anti-heroic teenagers who seek League membership are often paired up with one of the Justice League Dark's members for mentor-ship. The Justice League Dark is also notable for having at least one foreign dignitary among its ranks, as well as for taking potential powder-kegs and keeping them from exploding in the middle of a mission.
Among the Justice League Dark's nemeses are Copperhead and Apocalypse, although the weakening boundary between Continuum and the far reaches of reality ensure that others will arise to threaten this coalition of warriors, thieves, and mages.[/small]
[big]ᴛʜᴇ Sᴇᴄʀᴇᴛ Sᴇᴠᴇɴ[/big]
[icon]The Secret Seven[/icon]"Yᴏᴜ ᴅᴏɴ·ᴛ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴜs﹐ ʙᴜᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴅᴏɴ·ᴛ ɴᴇᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ.."
[small]If the Justice League Dark is black-ops, the Secret Seven are a rumor. This squad is known only to the highest-ranking city officials, all of whom are under a lifelong, binding contract to swear no knowledge of its existence to anyone. Technically unaffiliated with the city, the Secret Seven are made up of mages, assassins, mercenaries, and sociopaths all working toward the same goal: keep the city safe, regardless of who has to die to accomplish that. Because of this, the Secret Seven often come into conflict with the more morally-righteous and idealistic heroes of the city, as the Seven are perfectly willing to assassinate a public official who could damage the city's prosperity just as much as they're willing to firebomb a gang hideout or ambush a criminal fleeing from the police, to leave them for the cops to collect.
At the same time, this amorality has seen them working alongside the Justice League Dark, especially in regards to handling a magical threat. Because of their similar goals and several of the Justice League Dark being amoral, members of the Secret Seven are sometimes rumored to be part of the Justice League Dark. This provides both teams with a sinister edge to their reputation and the appearance of greater numbers, and as such the Secret Seven make no effort to proclaim otherwise. Legally, however, the Secret Seven are actively wanted for numerous crimes.
Because of its small numbers, the Seven do not have divisions, although some members are obviously suited for different tasks. Rather than answer to proper power structure, the Seven work fluidly to play to their strengths on any given mission.
The Secret Seven Stronghold in Wellbourne is their favored hideout, and only those same high-ranking city officials, under a lifelong non-disclosure agreement, know where it is. Those seeking to hire the Secret Seven or individual members often do so through third parties, particularly one of the gangs cowed into submission by the Red Hood to run as intermediaries.[/small]
Their primary enemies are the Avengers, though other super-groups have stood against the Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood of Mutants are primarily well-intentioned, to a point, in that they see the injustice mutantkind is subjected to. Because they are more morally-ambiguous than most other 'villainous' super-groups, they aren't above siding with humans against other threats. Without fail, however, the Brotherhood will break off the alliance at the first sign trouble is over and will resume their agenda of mutant supremacy.
Taking to their metal-mixed structure high above Ironbrook named Asteroid M, they plot the demise of Human-kind and continue their efforts of recruitment to bolster their odds, even if they see themselves as the far superior race. Any worthy to join the cause may apply, non-mutant alike, but there is no promise that when the time comes, those that are not may be sacrificed or killed for their greater good..[/small]
Their command structure is loose, but clearly-defined, and the encouraged method of advancing in rank is to discredit or kill the person above you—a practice leading to the authorities having no idea who the heads of the Syndicate are until they choose to strike.
The Crime Syndicate exists largely to provide a unified force to oppose the Justice League, most of its membership made up of long-time antagonists of the Leaguers and other criminals simply off-put by such a powerful presence in the city. As such, cooperation with the Justice League in the face of a larger threat is exceedingly rare, with the Syndicate often working to actively undermine the Justice League on what few occasions force them into working alongside one another.
Unlike the Brotherhood of Mutants, the Crime Syndicate does not hold noble goals, and does not have a well-intentioned leader to explain their logic and make it palatable to less-blatantly villainous individuals. Indeed, some members seem to revel in being classical villains.
Currently, the Crime Syndicate works primarily through a number of gangs that hang out in the Pipes, a series of abandoned sewers connected to the Syndicate's hideout, the Terminal. As part of a Secret Seven ploy to keep these gangs from overwhelming the Continuum police force and spreading anarchy, the Red Hood's gangs have engaged in a bloody turf war with those loyal to the Crime Syndicate. The official story spread in the news is that the gang war is over turf and control of the drug trade.[/small]
[big]Sᴜɪᴄɪᴅᴇ Sϙᴜᴀᴅ[/big]
[icon]The Suicide Squad[/icon]"Bʟᴀᴄᴋ Oᴘs Assᴇᴍʙʟᴀɢᴇ"
[small]The Suicide Squad, also known as Task Force X (the name of a closely related but independent supervisory organization), is a name for this dangerous organization in Continuum City. A group composed mostly of incarcerated super-villains who perform black operations missions with a low chance of survival in exchange for shortened sentences. The Crisis of the [/small]City of Continuum[small] changes such a story, and those reformed Super Villains are mostly dysfunctional Anti-Heroes who, in an attempt at protecting their names, attempt to save a life or a hundred by joining the Suicide Squad. There are several members on this team, all of which are from different universes, or different alterations of the same timeline. They have 'interesting' missions. [/small]
[small]The Suicide Squad is a team of imprisoned super-villains and anti-heroes who perform high-risk missions for the U.S. Government in exchange for commuted sentences. They are formally known as Task Force X. The team's actions are highly classified, and the government is able to deny any involvement by claiming that they are not responsible for the damages of a random super-villain attack. Their commander is Amanda Waller[/small][small],who runs the organization out of Continuum City prison. The Government does not officially acknowledge the existence of the Suicide Squad, and claims their missions as random super-villain attacks.[/small]
[small]To prevent members escaping in the field, the prisoners are shackled with explosive bracelets programmed to detonate a certain distance from the field leader, who also wears a remote control that can detonate or disengage the bracelets as desired. In this case, the members of the squad are injected with nanobombs in the necks, to prevent them from ever escaping. Once you reveal the secret that there is a bomb in your neck, your head explodes. If you try to share information with anyone who is not affiliated with The Suicide Squad, you will be presented with similar results. The Suicide Squad's existence helps to explain why many convicted villains roam free without having heroes tracking them down—until they, inevitably, attempt or commit another crime.
Amanda Waller sets out to assemble an expendable field team that will aid the Government of Continuum, as well as Project Cobalt, in protecting the citizens while openly risking their lives for the people who hate them the most. The Suicide Squad's missions typically involve the elimination or retrieval of high-value targets, such as the recovery of a newborn baby who carries the cure to a deadly viral outbreak. While the criminals are performing these high-risk missions, the offer of 'freedom' is also on the line, because after the criminals have done everything asked of them, they will be set free and the nano-bombs will be removed from their necks. The group was created in order to stop super heroes from ganging up on villains. There is only one real goal and that goal is to help other villains if they are in need. The group will help others villains fight, carry out evil plots and even discuss the best ways to carry out any evil plots. However, there is no leadership within the group and no other goals other than to help other villains in need.
The reason why there are no other goals or a leadership structure is because Lamora doesn’t want there to be any infighting within the group. She fears someone may try to fight for a leadership title so in this group nobody is in charge. Additionally, there are no other goals because some villains may not agree with certain goals; therefor they won’t follow those goals. Finally, there are three rules in the group which allows villains to have freedom to do as they please.[/small]
The team also includes Drax, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon.
A team of superhuman and extraterrestrial adventurers, they are dedicated to the safeguarding of the Milky Way Galaxy from any force that threatens the security or liberty of its various people. An unlikely group, the team operates out of their home of Knowhere or their ship of interstellar travel named 'The Milano'. Whatever threat of galactic importance they come across, they are able to (usually) put aside their differences to guard the galaxy.
When the Guardians visit Continuum City, they can often be found in Ironbrook. There, the Milano is stationed at secure platforms and guarded by Project Cobalt personnel while the Guardians are out and about in the city. They do not often stay for long, but it is like a second home for them, as well as a place to refuel. The prices are a hell of a lot better in Continuum than on Knowhere..
The Guardian's have faced many a threat, and even though this rag tag team of heroes have their differences, they always overcome them to protect the galaxy. [/small]
Imotekh and Megatron both arrived in Continuum by sheer coincidence, both running out of supplies and troops.
Meanwhile Grievous had been in the city for many months now, using an old warehouse as his base of operations and as a place to hide his droid army as he had been acting solo for quite some time. The three warlords came into contact with each other and after much deliberation began to share supplies. Not long after they changed their temporary setup into a permanent one, and began working to take control of the city, first the underground and the criminal, then the rest of them.
Originally the Legion lacked a formal headquarters but that changed quickly. Grievous continued to operate out of his abandoned warehouse, now able to bring his ship into the atmosphere and hide it along with the Necron Tomb Ship using Cybertronian Cloaking tech. The warehouse serves as a sort of factory floor and testing area as well as a training ground for new recruits. Using Necron, Cybertronian, Nemoidian and Geonosian tech the Legion has engineered a new breed of droid soldier mostly under the command of General Grievous.
The second base of operations is a tower in the city itself, the Neo-Tech Industries tower. Using his holoform, Megatron threatened and "bought out" several companies in the city and began to distribute standard laser and energon based weaponry, no more powerful than an average handgun but at nearly 6 times the cost to better disguise their presence in the city and to be able to obtain raw material more easily. Megatron leads the company through the use of an advanced holoform under the alias of Galvin T. Ron.[/small]

Hello! This profile is the official set of guidelines, rules and information for the channel Heroes and Villains.
It is a private room dedicated to superhero themed role-play, where canon and original characters are equally are welcome.
Heroes and Villains itself is the primary room, and is always an in-character room. Use OOC brackets for brief conversation, but please move to Heroes and Villains OOC Chat for long or extended OOC discussion. Finally, primarily sexual roleplay is to be done in the Heroes and Villains Carnal Capes. All can be found in the Private Rooms list, or in the room description of the primary room.

[sub]Below are rules that apply to all of the channels.[/sub][collapse= ʜᴇʀᴏᴇs ᴀɴᴅ ᴠɪʟʟᴀɪɴs ᴄᴏᴅᴇ ᴏғ ᴄᴏɴᴅᴜᴄᴛ ᴘᴏʟɪᴄɪᴇs]
▪ I. Don’t be a jerk, or a troll. Treat others the way you’d like to be treated is a good recipe for a pleasant chat experience. We know you can’t keep everyone happy forever and ever, just don’t purposely set out to disrupt the chat. Rumor mongering will also not be tolerated. We're not here to spread a bad experience to others. If you have an issue, please bring it to the staff. Refrain from spreading what you may or may not to be a true rumor.
▪ II. Don't spam. And, no, excessive caps aren’t okay either. This goes for image spam, too. If the majority of your messages in any given amount of times are simply links or images, please refrain from doing so. Do not spam the ad function or use it for non-ad purposes, and we also do not allow room/channel ads for other non-affiliated room/channels. Ads pertaining to Sexual-Roleplay should be kept in Carnal Capes. Normal-Roleplay ads are to be kept in the OOC room. Bottle and dice spamming are also not tolerated. Constantly linking to articles from the same website, gifs, or images is only tolerable for so long.
▪ III. Try not to roleplay in the OOC room. Some fun in OOC is fine, but if things get a little long, where you're typing out two lines per RP posting message, or emoting heavily, we'd prefer it if you move it to an appropriate room or PM so that it doesn't break-up the flow of the chat. This goes for both normal and sexual play in the OOC.
▪ IV. Keep it (relatively) clean. Sure, it's mainly used as a sex site, but the OOC room is no place to break down in heavy-heated sexual play. It's also no place to post numerous sexually focused pictures. If you want to share sex images and gifs with someone, do it in PM. If you feel the need to absolutely share a sexually focused picture, tag it with NSFW. There are serious roleplayers around here, too, that don't want to see that. If you'd like to get involved in sexual roleplay or talk at length about sex, Carnal Capes is the best place to do so.
▪ V. Try to be on your best behavior. Sure, everyone likes to joke and mess around, but too often to people get into little arguments. Discussions about a particular topic is fine, but if you can't control yourself to where you skew off-topic and insult persons in the room or have to use derogatory terms to attempt to get your point across, perhaps not speaking at all for a while is the better choice. Snarking, sniping, and jesting are only tolerable for so long. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
▪ VI. Try to role-play fairly and friendly. Obviously, there are Heroes and then there are Villains, but behind the roleplay, there are players. All humans, just like you. And these people have feelings. Most roleplay in the rooms take place in City of Continuum. Try to be on your best when you play, and be respectful of others posts and time spent in any Roleplay. Do not fight unfairly, intrude, or overbear yourself on another's character. Under no circumstances will elitism be tolerated. We're all here to have fun, not to stroke our ego's with who's the better Hero or Villain.
▪ VII. Respectful of Roleplay. Bear in mind that the IC room is open to all members; as such RP in that channel should, by and large, be public. Under no circumstances should any player be barred from playing in the room or in an event. However, when involving yourself in an scene, bear in mind that the people who started the RP may have objectives, such as an event remaining combat-unfriendly, etcetera. Be respectful of others posts and under no circumstances should there be any God-modding in the room. Talk scenes out with players in PM so that everyone is on the same page, and politely ask to enter a roleplay, out of common courtesy. That said, the room is open to all, of any type. Post length should not get too long, so that the room can continue in a productive manner. 3-8 sentences is a general, good number of lines to play by to keep things rolling. Show a bit of consideration and don't derail the scene.
▪ VIII. Respect your moderation staff. Our moderators are volunteer workers, and we don’t pay them for their time. As such it would be wrong for us to require them to be in any particular place for any particular amount of time. They keep our chat rooms clean out of the goodness of their hearts so if you call a moderator and they’re unable to help you, please don’t get angry with them.
[/collapse][collapse= ᴘᴇɴᴀʟᴛʏ ɢᴜɪᴅᴇʟɪɴᴇs]
Channel goers who repeatedly cause issues in the channels are subject to these penalties:
▪ [big]I[/big] Users will be warned initially for repeat offenses, in PMs. The warning will be clear and non-negotiable. Unfavorable reactions to the warning will cause consideration for immediate escalation to the next level of penalty.
▪ [big]II[/big] Users who infringe following the warning will be sentenced to a 3 day ban from the channels. Evasion of this ban upgrades it to a permanent one and global operators will be contacted.
▪ [big]III[/big] Users who return after their 3-day ban and continue to cause problems with be granted a 7-day ban from the channels. Evasion of this ban upgrades it to a permanent one and global operators will be contacted.
▪ [big]IV[/big] Users who return after their 7-day ban and continue to cause problems will be permanently banned from the channels. Any evasion or continued harassment will result in global operators being contacted.
▪ [big]V[/big] The staff reserves the right to, at any time, upgrade a ban to a permanent ban or to induce a ban from the channels if deemed necessary for the integrity of the room. Any evasion or continued harassment will result in global operators being contacted.

We do ask our moderators to be lenient, but please don’t count on this policy to save you if you’re going out of your way to cause trouble. On the other hand, we do ask moderators not to act on anything they haven’t seen, And while chat-logs are nice, they can be easily altered, as can screenshots, so we may not accept these in terms of a decision. Know that moderators will not always make decisions with which you agree. Berating them for a decision is very unlikely to get them to change their minds, and may even get you silenced for harassment. Mods are people, too, so please treat them as nicely as you would treat anyone else.
It is entirely up to the discretion of the Heroes and Villains staff and appointed moderators to interpret and enforce the guidelines above. Under no circumstances are any users allowed to /ignore a Moderator. As such, no moderator may /ignore a user. We believe that oftentimes whether or not a wrongdoing has occurred depends a lot on context, and so we trust our moderators to put events into context and make judgment calls. The beauty of this is that we’re all human, and more able to make such decisions. The downside of this is of course that humans sometimes make mistakes. If you feel that you’ve been wronged by a moderator, feel free to let another moderator, or the room Owner, know, so that we can look into it.
